First of all my heart goes out to those people and families just as it did on September 11th here. Those poor innocent victims just trying to live their normal lives. How sad and wasteful, and they say it is justified or in the name of their god. Some sad and disgusting belief.

What was your first reaction after the disgust for the cowardly terrorist and the sorrow for lost of life?

How or why does this effect you?

I think this is one of the most important occurrences since 9/11 other than our military action in the war on terror.

Hi logs,

I only see these events helping to polarize the balance of the world's democracies into action. The real shame is that this human suffering is what it will take to insure that action! There can be no doubt as to the intent of these terrorist organizations. The only real question left to be answered is when the balance of the world will tire of tolerating these attacks......and respond effectively!

The terrorist will not quit until either all non-believers are eliminated, or they are eliminated! I don't think their resolve is in question. But rather "our resolve" is in question. Hopefully we will maintain the determination to do what is required!

For those in this country, politician or ordinary citizen, that attempt to downplay the terrorist threat, (because of selfish concerns regarding the impact of the issue on upcoming elections), it is unfortunate events such as this, that prove them wrong!

It won't take the Democrats long to attempt to blame Bush for this as well!

Iffred and AK, I could not have expressed my views or opinions clear than you two have just done.

I will add this, there is more to come and closer to home. Not knowing the When and Where is the wepon of their terror. As Ak states there is no questioning their resolve. Like mad men obessed, total defeat and death is all that will stop them. As long as a flame flickers they will continue their war on humanity. They are desperate people with great resources behind them and they have no regard for the value of life other than their narrow perspective. They are a force that must not be brushed aside for political gain as has been said. They are a reality that must be beaten and battered out of existence. If not no peace will ever be had regardless of what political party holds office in the WhiteHouse.

This is a terrible reminder of our September 11th. It seems so many, if not have forgotten, have choosen to ignore the continuing threat.

What a waste of life. We can only hope that other countries will come on board the anti-terrorist movement and help us ferret out these monsters and send them to hell where they belong.

Anyone out there still thinking the war on terror is a waste of time? Please don't give us the same old crap about the war causing terrorist attacks. These attacks have been steady and relentless, war or not.

Part of the real shame is that not only is it easy for us to see how many others in the world view this, (as provided so well in example form on this very forum), but I had co-workers that voiced similar dissent. As well as hearing it from some Americans in other places as well!

It seems that as long as their perception of reality is that it isn't a threat to them personally, they want no responsibility in looking for solutions. Some out of apathy, some because of the money that will be required, and some out of fear for "their family members" that may be in the armed forces. (At least the last reason I can empathize with. But it is truly sad when it becomes a question of possible personal sacrifice....the resolve melts away!) I can think of few things in life more cowardly than to say liberty is worth defending, worth fighting for, worth holding on to....but only if I don't have to risk anything! As for the apathetic and those willing to waste billions on every social welfare program that comes along....but nothing for defense.....I'd just like to literally "kick them in their a**". Then kick them offshore, out of this country, never to be allowed to return again! (And I am not particularly concerned with whomever may disagree with those last sentiments!) I've known and dealt with cowards before......and unfortunately I'm certain I will have to again! Thank God that not all Americans are ready to "roll over....and play dead"!

If the balance of the world decides to sit on their collective thumbs and wait to be attacked. Let that be their choice alone! Personally I believe it is time to collect up the some other few countries of the world that have any moral courage left at all.......and give every terrorist in the world that can be found, what they have prayed for.........a martyr's death!
