Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Hey Ifferd,

I feel your pain.......(just kidding man).....don't shoot!

You can be certain that if they do start losing money......there will be NO oil! I'm not going to sit here and claim that in cases profiteering doesn't exist....because I'm sure that in instances....it does! But a company neither can, nor will, operate to lose money!

And I also agree the government interferes in too many aspects of our lives already. But I'd really prefer to see less government interference...not more! California is a great example of what happens when any government attempts to force any product to be "sold for less" than the cost of business dictates!

There are no easy answers for this. Best suggestion....invest a little in holdings of those companies that provide the "best profit" for their investors. That way you can "share a little of the profiteering". Until then...there probably isn't a better solution.

For what it's worth. Gasoline which is pumped from the ground.....somewhere around the world. Then stored, shipped.....refined....shipped some more.....stored some more.....and finally retailed.......stills sells for less per gallon than soda. Water, sugar, and food coloring! Gasoline is still a better value!

I know that doesn't help.....but maybe it helps to "lighten your mood"!

Dave

This'll cheer you up Iffered: Heard on the news that gas prices should hit the 3 bone mark by mid summer (Yes, that's THIS summer!)

They are already gouging by raising gas on Friday by a dime or more and lowering it by Monday. I love that one.

I will enjoy seeing Hip and his kind reply to this, as I recall it was being said that the crushing of Iraq was for thier oil, if it was for us to take thier oil why have oil prices gone up?

Hip you all need to explain that for me if we took Iraq for thier oil!

Just heard on the news yesterday that 1. the price of oil has gone down in the last two weeks because of an oil surplus (yet the prices still go up? I bet farmers wished the price of corn went up when there was a surplus). 2. Exxon plans to save us $1 billion in 2005, nice guys huh? Well before you pat them on the back that comes after their record setting $20 billion PROFIT that they made in 2004, breaking the record profits that they had made each of the PREVIOUS THREE YEARS.
Oil men as President and VP for 4 years.
Oil companies making record profits for 4 years.
Reduced government funding in the last 4 years for methenol plants.
Could there possibly be a connection?
Could there be a fox in the hen house?

I hope everyone else catches your sarcastic undertones. I didn't at first, which disapoints me. I must have stayed up too late last night.
