Hi John Bear,
Actually I did a Google search. It provided a number of sites referencing Larry Thorne (and a number of those sites provided additional links). There is much more information than I posted. The story of his life is interesting enough to warrant more reading! Unless Google provides a "different hit" for you......there should be sufficient information to build on if you desire.......I will.
The picture above is of the American war dead at the Meuse-Argonne Cemetery and Memorial. Plot F - Row 5 - Grave 34.......lies the body of PVT. Edwin N. Barnes, he died November 29, 1918. A member of 112th Infanty Regimnet, 28th Division, he was my mother's cousin.
He was only one in my family to have sacrificied either their lives.....or suffered severe wounds in Europe during both wars. As well as the Pacific theater of WWII, Korea, and Vietnam! So yes......I believe in both the sanctity of our war dead......and United States sovereignty. So I probably won't have a "dry mouth" for a long, long, time!
