Doesn't every woman have the potential to become pregnant ?

Ha, point taken. Maybe the exception is those who have had certain surgeries, or who know they are not able tobecome pregnant for one reason or another. Of course, there is always a possibility.

Thing is, the medical field has to market to women who may become pregnant regardless of the warning. Why ? They'd lose 1/2 their potential market if they didn't. Why not just say " not intended for use in fertile women" ??

Right ?

I have woundered about that disclaimer too.

My gut tells me that we are misunderstanding the wording. I'm thinking it is something like some one that is trying to get pregnant or missed this month should stop taking it. I'm not a lawer or a doctor so I'm not shure what it really means.

It means i think That the drug companys are covering all bets& there hiney.

Those POSSIBLE adverse reaction lists? that it could cause sudden bleeding headache,etc etc, etc like a sugar pill? lol
The ladder company could can be suied for being a ladder company ( someone just jumps off of it ( no malfuntion, or libel - sorta like firearms could be in the future?have been?

Yep.
There are some medications that can cause horrific birth defects. Accutane, an acne medication, is one. The effects can be so bad that many doctors won't write a girl a prescription for it without writing one for birth control pills also.
Some medications don't cause problems during pregnancy, but alot do. Most women are smart enough to check with their doctors before taking any meds while they're pregnant, or even trying to get pregnant. But there are alot that don't. It's important for drug companies to cover their behinds.

hntngirl - Exaclty, the drugs have either known or unknown potential to damage unborn babies.

So why EVER let a fertile female take them ? Uh .... money. Put a disclaimer that is worded odd and hope that most of the women who "could" become pregnant goes ahead and buys your drug anyway.

Aint that a crock ?
