Default Why are dinosaurs not mentioned in the bible?

It is just a question I ask because of all the preaching I am hearing on religion.

My grandmother never believed in dinosaurs because they were never brought up in the bible.

A snake is mentioned but no other reptiles...............

That's easy. The men that wrote it didn't know about dinosaurs back then.

As stories were passed on why were not the great reptiles written about. The snake became famous but no other reptiles?

This is probably due to the snake being a symbol of Satan. The other reptiles just didn't play a key role in Judeo-Christian religion, so they were overlooked.

There are alot of animals, most actually, that were never mentioned in the Bible. That doesn't mean they didn't exist, just that there wasn't anything written about them. I'm confident that there were giraffes, monkeys, rhinos, and alligators, and every other animal on the earth today, as well as alot of animals that are now extinct. That includes dinosaurs. Also, the Bible does mention that giants walked the earth. It doesn't specifically say that they were all human.

Why didn't the early story tellers write that God created the heavens(solar systems) and earth and on this desolite planet he planted a seed for life. And with many millions of years to grow man is made, etc. and so on.

Why do we make something so complicated (life on earth) and believe God made man magically stirring up a brew and wallah..........

I think God would like us to believe it took much time to create life instead of six or seven days. We need to give him/her more credit that that.

Look up "Leviathan" and "Behommeth". Not sure I spelled those exactly right, but they are most likely a referance to dinosaurs.

Hntngirl makes a very good point--there are many creatures that are not mentioned, but we know they exist.
