Last May, Eric Nordmark was terrified when police arrested him and accused him of attacking three 12 year old girls in a park. The 37 year old homeless man had been sleeping behind a Kmart store in Orange County, Cal. According to the girls, Nordmark had choked them, pulled their hair, threw one of them to the ground and got on top of her.
After nearly 8 months in jail, Nordmark was released after when one of the girls recently admitted they made the story up as an excuse for coming home late from school. Police have charged the three girls with conspiracy and one of them with perjury, and all three girls have an appearance in juvenile court Thursday. The charges can carry up to 4 years and 8 months in custody.
I heard about this on the local news talk station.
After the truth came out, the Police investigated the matter. Then, they went to the girls school, arrested them and took them away in handcuffs, delieved then to Juvie hall and they are all being charged. What happens next you ask in this great country?
The mothers of the girls are outraged. How dare the Police embrass their little girls like this, and of course there is a law suit pending from the parents of the girls.
I know what happens to "accused " and convicted child molesters in jail and prison. This guy must have went through he11 awaiting trial. I don't know why he is homeless, choice, mental illness or down on his luck. But regardless these girls never thought about him for one second until after he had suffered greatly and now they and their parents are embrassed and outraged about being arrested for just cause. What a sad commentary on people in general and our litigating society.
I don't know for sure but I don't believe the homeless guy is sueing them. Isn't that the cat arse????

Wow people are stupid.
On the good side of this story, at least the bum had a meal and a dry place to sleep for 8 months.

I heard about this on the radio as well. The girls got what they deserved, and a bit more might have been in order.
Obviously this guy was not in the best of situations, and the girls took advantage of that. If they had been post-adolescent, I would like to see each of them serve a minimum of eight months in lockup.
As far as I'm concerned, their parents can join them. I just can't understand why people constantly point the finger at those who have absolutely nothing to do with their childrens' thoughtless actions.

I can get behind that one.
I know he was worse off without his freedom and locked up for 8 months was obviously not easy. I was just trying to point out some positives in this nasty situation. If you think about it, he probably ate better in those 8 months than he has in a long time. That's all I'm saying. He obviously shouldn't have been in there. You guys take me way too serious.

If I were homeless, I'd try to make the best of a bad situation. I'd head for the countryside, find a little patch of isolated timber to squat in, build a campsite, and try to live as a modern day pioneer. Sure some days would be rough, but I'll take hungry freedom over well-fed incarceration any time.
