Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago and our nation was the most prosperous in the world, had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class in the world and Mom stayed home to raise the kids.

Simple, our country is full of apathetic, dependent, lazy, obese, morally corrupt individuals. For the most part, the men and women who pay the taxes in this country have to bust their butts twice as hard to make half as much after the man gets done reaming them. Doesn't seem right does it?
I'm in the middle of an audit right now so I've been thinking about taxes and the IRS aplenty.
Think about it. We spend gobs of our money to support a tax system that has turned into a fire breathing dragon who's only goal is to one day gobble us up. We so desperately need a new tax system, it is just downright scary anymore.
If we institute a federal sales tax, EVERYBODY will pay. It won't matter if you have very little money or millions. It won't matter if you're a criminal or a politician (not much difference I know) or an illegal alien, every time you go to Wal-Mart, you are paying your taxes. No more estimated taxes, no more tax forms, no need for CPA's or accountants and no more IRS. There would be no more seizing of property because someone made a mistake on a tax form or was swindled by their accountant.
We could even collect taxes from foreign visitors.
The politicians would no longer have the control that the current system imparts on the masses and the only thing that would need to take place is for businesses to report it (which they have to do for state and local anyway).
Why the hell are we not doing this?????????????????????????
Anybody want to see something scary? Just go to the IRS web site and take a look at how many tax forms there are now. The IRS literally inundates business owners with paper work to the point that most of them are afraid to do there own accounting and taxes. Then they pull a select few and rake these business owners over the coals. If they don't find anything to bitch about, all is good. If they find a mistake that has been repeated on your past and current tax returns, you're toast and I ain't kidding.
My mom and my brother were in business together until his idiot wife failed to do their taxes properly. They lost the business and my brother ended up claiming bankruptcy. I also have an uncle who used an accountant to handle the finances from his business. The accountant swindled him and the IRS took his three year old house and kicked him to the curb. He had worked like a maniac his whole life and wound up homeless at almost fifty years old. The stories go on and on.
If they find any major mistakes in the way I've been doing our taxes, I'll be toast too. I wonder how many crackheads the IRS has audited lateley.
I disagree. We need a tax, much, much lower than it is, that says everyone pays, x percent. whether you make 10 K a year of 1 Million a year. why is it that my wife and I take 0 deductions on our W4, have extra money taken out and it still isn't enough??? thatn doesn't make sense. no deductions for buying a house. No deductions for charity. No deductions for kids. No deductions period. You make money, you pay x percent. If you don't make any money...get a friggin' job. The gov't should not support folks who choose not to work. It is not the responsibility of the gov't.
take in what they need for infrastructure and nat'l defense and protection of our country internally (all enemies, foreign and domestic), and cancel all the rest of the entitlement crap.
I just got off the phone with my dad and I had to post this. He said he was literally shaking with rage by the end of it.
He was watching a show last night on Fox and they were interviewing an auditor with the IRS. The auditor actually told the interviewer that shutting a business down for tax reasons was the BEST PART OF HIS JOB!
This sadistic piece of sh** actually gets off on putting honest people out of business!
I swear to God I hope I live long enough to see the IRS get sh**canned. They are a government run Mafia and they are the bain of the small business owner. Everybody wonders why the economy has gone to hell in a handbasket. Well it's no small wonder at all when you've got auditors who's only goal in life is to shut small businesses down. THE SAME SMALL BUSINESSES THAT PAY MOST OF THIS COUNTRY'S TAXES SO THE CRACKHEAD DOWN THE STREET CAN POP OUT CRACK BABIES LIKE A PEZ DISPENSER AND HAVE THEM PAYED FOR BY WELFARE.
Oh yeah. He also said that if they ended up seizing someone's house or other property, that was considered a bonus and a reason to celebrate.
Now tell me that SOB doesn't NEED a well placed bullet. It's no wonder people are bugging out and going on rampages.
We need to end the IRS and now. Everybody everywhere needs to start banging the FEDERAL SALES TAX drum and we need to keep banging it until the government has no choice but to make it an issue. Something like this starts with one small voice and builds until they have no choice but to listen.
With that said, does anyone have links to any websites already started for this purpose and does anyone have links to our congressmen. I plan to start writing some serious letters on this issue. One of my state representatives sent me a questionaire a few weeks ago asking if I would like to see a 2% sales tax increase instead of local property taxes so I know it is becoming an issue locally. I feel that with more state and local governments going successfully to the sales taxes, now is the time to start pushing for it on a national level. I think it is the only way we will ever possibly see an end to the IRS as we know it and in my opinion they simply can't get gone fast enough. We need to kill the MAFIA and NOW!
