Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default let the Supreme Court know how you feel about the Pledge of Allegiance

http://www.grassfire.org/14/petition.asp?PID=5680036

SUPREME COURT TO RULE ON PLEDGE!
About the Petition:

Fifteen months after a three-judge panel from the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the phrase "under God" is a violation of the U.S. Constitution because it creates an "establishment" of religion, the U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to hear the case, and ultimately decide the fate of the Pledge of Allegiance.

From the very beginning of this case, Grassfire has been at the forefront of this issue, launching a national petition that has captured the hearts and minds of more than half-a-million Americans who, through this petition are urging the Supreme Court to overturn the 9th Circuit Court ruling.

The Petition States:
I am outraged that the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals has banned the Pledge of Allegiance from public schools because of the phrase "under God." The Pledge is an important reminder of our nation's heritage. We are counting on the Supreme Court to take strong and decisive action that not only protects the Pledge from future attacks, but also encourages the reciting of the Pledge in every school in America. Please know that I am taking a personal stand by joining this "I Support The Pledge" campaign

I don't have a problem with under God, but I also realize that it was added in their well after the pledge was written.

Well I just signed, I was the 579,518 person to sign it so far, thanks Jorgy and thank you Charlie for respecting the belief of others and not taking it as a personal slight against your feelings. BTW Charlie is right, the God portion was added later.

I frankly find the entire issue completely silly , and I had to recite the pledge in school .

How about just not making the kids recite the pledge at all ?

Good idea Kev - then we can have the kids talk to counselors about being gay and maybe even have a gay shadow or mentor for a day - to get more diversity in our kids' lives so they can further the benefit of having such a truly great and unique culture.
