Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

I am from Ohio. This has been in our news for a long time before it went national.
One thing that made me ill was when they first started reporting it was that they immediately blamed it on a hunter. (Our local news station in Dayton)

We just got the law passed for concealed weapons to be allowed in Ohio. I hope we don't back track with our laws because of this situation.

Meanwhile....I am staying out of the area where this male or female has been known to be. He/she is becoming more frequent and bold.

Good for Ohio! We passed a CCW law many years ago an our crime rate has dropped. Think of it this way, a sniper might be a bit nervous if the car coming toward him was armed while he was doing his business. I can't believe with sattelites that can see you scratch your bum that they don't have the car on camera yet. Hope he gets a dose of lead.

I had to put up with the 'DC Sniper' media freakout a back in those "three weeks in October", so I feel your pain, sunset. I hear reports about the Ohio shooter pretty regularly here on the local stations. It's pretty easy for people to start jumping to conclusions. Seems to me that most of these "sniper-types" are just anti-social loners who decided to go shoot some people up for kicks.

Unfortunately, the non-gun-owning public tends to associate law-abiding gun owners with these violent nutjobs. Violent gun crimes in the news are always bad for gun rights, because ignorant people panic and just assume that banning scary-looking guns will make them all go and away. They view guns as the source of crime, rather than criminals as the source of crime.

The only thing that we, as gun owners, can do is to be vocal. Set an example not only to your fellow gun owners, but your fellow citizens. We enjoy the shooting sports, and we're decent, upstanding people. There is no shame in enjoying a firearm in sport, and it is our right as human beings to defend ourselves and our families from harm at the hands of another.

In any case, this shooter is obviously an angry and depraved thrill-seeker. Stay safe out there until justice catches up with him/her.

I doubt seriously if this sniper has a concealed weapon permit to pack a rifle under his trench coat. Why would he? This type of individual is NOT a law abidding citizen. This is a nut that wants to read about his only accomplishment in life and that is is to read about himself in the mornings paper, sad. Newspapers jump on this cause its news as people like you want to read it and buy the papers or support the news programming. Bobby

gleninAZ, I wish that certain member s of the Wisconsin political parties would think of this instead of voting to uphold the veto because of personal preferences and revenge !!!!! Especially the man that sponsored the CCW bill in the first place !!! [:@]

The sniper in Ohio hits close to home. My wife (before having our baby) was driving through there weekly. I live about 30 minutes from the last shooting.

The guy is either really, really smart or really, really dumb. I can't figure out which.

I'm with Sunset....blaming it on a hunter was an assinine thing to do. It wasn't even hunting season when they were originally doing this. DUH

I haven't heard much grumbling about gun control over this. Maybe it didn't hurt the CCW law here. Who knows?

Of course it will! But all such incidents do, right? This is not near as bad as the MD/DC/VA "snipers"!!
