I might buy into that.....if the purpose was to keep his capture unknown from the rest of the "civilized" world.....so they can extract whatever information he could provide. Without the interference from organizations like "Amnesty International", etc.
But, as a supposition that "they're holding him" until just before the elections......NOPE....I don't buy into that!

If we caught bin Laden, his mugshot would be all over every newspaper and TV station in the world. Bush would have to be an absolute bona fide bumpkin not to use the PR to his advantage come election day.

It's reported from several sources including newspapers from the region that after 911 about 3,000 higher ranking officers of the Taliban were flown out of Pakistan/Kuwait border area over to Saudi Arabia on US transport planes and were given gold bars. So, the US helped the movement of these guys, and probably (not sure) helped pay if not provided the gold. Why would they do that? Was Bin Laden in that group? Don't know. Do they know where he is? Oh yeah, waiting for the right moment to bring out the fact that he's either dead, or they "just caught him". Again, some my theory, some documented facts.

I find it interesting that the left is already creating excuses for when/if Bin Laden is killed or captured - "It was a purely political move! He held him until it would be beneficial to his re-election! Why wasn't he caught sooner?!" Create the buzz now, that way when he is found or killed, you can say "See! I told you Bush was a crook!"
I just find it really interesting that all the suuden all of these military people are so confident that he will be captured soon.
My buddy and I were having an argument about something the other night. I said to him "what do you want to bet" He stoppped right then and smiled and said" you know your right don't you?" He knows I'll only bet on a sure thing. These guys sound too sure of themselves, my gut feeling is they have him already.
