Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

What are you some kind of liberal gun grabber or something?[8D]

Just because he's leaving our borders open so any terroist can slip in, not to mention the new influx of Mexicans trying to take advantage of his new program, you think you can judge him?

Ignore the fact that he will sign the most restrictive gun control bill in the history of this country if it gets to his desk.

I am no liberal gun grabber, and find myself being a little more conservative as I grow older...........just a little.

I was just hoping to see how the winds blow now, just a few months after some proclaimed Bush as the greatest.

From day one, I have said that his greatest weakness is that he is too willing and too quick to compromise.

Who else we going to vote for? Nader?

Speaking of which, did you see the news clips of him bashing the Bush Admin? It was rather comical - he could hardly stand up there and speak with a straight face. He's doing this for Bush IMO.

Hi Cougar Mag,

I've certainly never proclaimed him to be the greatest. But let me rephrase and ask this question.

Would you rather have seen Gore.....or Nadar instead?

I not only find myself more conservative....but I was serious enough about my beliefs to swear an oath to defend the Constitution. And I still believe that.....though I know there are many here that might question both my beliefs and sincerity. But to them.....go back to my question above.

Anyone that either will not.....or can not answer that question.....isn't facing reality. And I have heard many answers that "attempted to dance around answering the question above". I've heard all the moralizations about why we should "not waste our votes on the lesser of two (or in this case three) evils". And I've heard a lot of games with semantics. But I haven't had one of those other people I am talking about....give me a straight forward answer to that question. Let alone an explanation of, "how either of them would have been doing anything better". (And in truth....only Gore had a chance of the two names above. And we were spared him by the skin of our teeth!)

I won't argue with you that things need to change. But they will have to change within the context of our reality....whether we like that reality or not! And I'm still waiting on anyone at this forum to provide a "real" alternative answer to the problem. (Which doesn't include putting the worst candidate into office!) But I am....all ears!

Dave

Yeah I did Charlie and I knew you were. Its a mod thing, don't seem to be taken seriously if we smile much.

Actually my intent of this thread was not to build support for other candidates of any party, but to see if anyone thought Bush was still the greatest.

Nader no, Gore.......well, I voted for him but realize that he most likely would have been softer on terrorism.

Although Bush will sign that gun bill, I don't think he will support any new laws that would contradict our 2nd Amendment. The alternative candidates scare me in that regard.
