This is from the South Carolina IRS website. It's kinda scary knowing that some of the bigger reasons businesses fail is because they fail to jump through all the f***ing hoops that have been set up by the f***ing IRS. Maybe we just need to shoot the f***ing IRS so we can get them out of our g******ed hair, so we can run our own g********ed business!!!!
My wife and I opened a barber shop for her last year. Getting the building ready and buying all the equipment needed was a cake walk compared to trying to figure out all the g*******ed sh** that the IRS requires.
Now I have to figure out how to fill out this f***ing Business Personal Property Return so I don't get screwed to the f***ing wall.
I know there is somebody out there cursing this same stupid form that can tell me the best way to report our assets without getting killed. Any help would be appreciated.
In case anyone hasn't figured it out, I f***ing hate the f***ing IRS!!!!
Why Do Most New Businesses Fail?
Your new business is more likely to succeed if you avoid the following pitfalls. Some of the reasons most new businesses fail are:
Failure to pay taxes in a timely manner
Filing $0 Business Personal Property return when the business has depreciable assets reflected on the income return
Failure to file and pay Business Personal Property return
Failure to pay sales tax on marked-up items
Failure to pay use tax on items used in the business
Failure to use correct identification number
Not using your preprinted forms with identification numbers
Failure to advise Department of Revenue of address change
Failure to file $0 returns to the Department of Revenue
Am I the only one that finds this sh** downright scary???
We need a flat tax or a sales tax system. What we DON'T need is the f***ing IRS!!!!!
Stickemup ,
I don't own a business , but I'm with you , especially on the flat tax . A national sales tax would probably cause us to be taxed more than a flat tax . Take 10% of my gross , cut out all the pork barrels and exemptions , fire the IRS , and have a Constitutional ammendment for a balanced budget that specifically forbids deficit spending . Then the govt. could begin to downsize , and therefore require even less money from us .

That would be a start seeing as the IRS is an illegal private entity anyway.

If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a civilization, it expects what never was and what never will be.
I realize that this may sound a bit naive, but why not hire a tax attorney or CPA to insure that everything is in order? I know the tax system is out of control, but until "We the People" get off our stumps and do something about it, it's ours to live with.
I also know tax attorneys and CPAs cost money, but if you are earning enough to have taxes to file, it is worth doing correctly and legally so you don't suffer in the long run, besides, that expense is a valid deduction which may pay off in saved money, headaches and trips to court.
stickemup, your name is how I feel the irs treats us, ironic
As a business owner let me give you some advise, pay the money for a cpa. The first 2 years of my business I did this and it was so worth the money, even though I didn't want to spend the money. Also, I hope you hired a lawyer when you first started up to make sure that all your legal things were/are in order. It sucks, and I bitched and screamed every time I had to pay that prick, but it was money well spent at the end of the day. Anyway, back to the cpa, after 2 years I went back to doing my own taxes with turbotax for business and I can just look back on my first 2 returns done under a cpa to make sure I don't miss and screw myself.

Like so many others have said, spend the money for advice.
At least you'll keep the money locally.
A friend fought the IRS for over a year on a quarterly report. After all the hassel it was determined that that the only thing wrong was it was filled out with blue ink instead of black. The IRS did not want blue ink.[:'(]
I agree with you. But the only safe approach for you at the moment...is pay for the proper advice....and count it as a business expense.
As for the flat tax.....or the sales tax.....I'd prefer the sales tax. As long as we have any type of tax based on income, (which is what a flat tax is), the IRS.....with all of it's flunkies.....stay in business. Only when we get out of the "income tax" system.....do we get a chance to "can the IRS".
It doesn't take the IRS to maintain a flat sales tax system. It is relatively straight forward compared to income taxes. (And as long as there is an income tax the incentive remains to allow for some type of deductions.....because the politicians want to keep "indentured voters".)
I know it's a pipe dream.....but can the entire system!

Dude, I feel for you. But as others have said, hire a CPA. They are expensive, but they are worth it. They are the pro's. People pay you (or wife) to cut their hair 'cause you're the pro's. Plus, you can write off the filing fees. If you really want to do your own paperwork, hire a CPA for a few years and learn how he/she is doing it. Copy them for the next few years. Then hire a new one every so often to make sure everything is ok.
