RE: What kind of man wants to be the president anyway.
The person who wants the power to make a difference. The next question is what kind or a difference and for whom?
In the early years of our nation I believe the motives were less selfish than today all the way around. But as the country grew, it became harder to make a major difference that would satisfy all the people. Also the circle of power was much smaller. That is when the focus to improve things became narrow with the exception of nation crisis, the Great Depression, Wars and things like 9/11.
Im a Bush backer but I do realize that he wants to make a difference not just for America but Im sure for certian people in America. That is only human and as long as it is not out of control, illegal, unethical or immoral I don't have a problem with it. On the other hand, I think that as much as clintoon "felt our pain" he was more interested in power for himself, hillary and secruing a place in history along with as much personal wealth as possible. he got his place in history along with a cigar, stained dress and a chubby intern.
I think that right now we need a President that is concerned with National security and willing to risk everything to secure it. It may turn his hair grey and he will have to face a lot of nay sayers but that goes with the territory.
