Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default What kind of man wants to be the president anyway.

Watching the debates has made me wonder...With all the accusations and dredging up of old bones...Who would really want to go through the motions of getting elected.

History is full of pictures of dark haired "younger' looking men getting elected, only to leave a few years later as gray haired "old" looking men.

No matter what your intentions are,,,There are gonna be several million people who despise your every breath, and would like to see you either dead or replaced.

Why would anyone even want the job. Regardless of party affiliation.

Idea's and Ideals can only get you so far...The hatred against you must take a toll.

In a word POWER. You can't get that far in politics without what the rest of us would consider a unhealthy sense of one's self. In todays world the voting public is left to chose generally between the lesser of two evils. We try to find the egomaniacal man (or women) that we think best represents a course for our country that pleases us and takes our values into consideration. However, in politics you take the good with the bad and by the way GO GETTUM W!

The person who wants the power to make a difference. The next question is what kind or a difference and for whom?

In the early years of our nation I believe the motives were less selfish than today all the way around. But as the country grew, it became harder to make a major difference that would satisfy all the people. Also the circle of power was much smaller. That is when the focus to improve things became narrow with the exception of nation crisis, the Great Depression, Wars and things like 9/11.

Im a Bush backer but I do realize that he wants to make a difference not just for America but Im sure for certian people in America. That is only human and as long as it is not out of control, illegal, unethical or immoral I don't have a problem with it. On the other hand, I think that as much as clintoon "felt our pain" he was more interested in power for himself, hillary and secruing a place in history along with as much personal wealth as possible. he got his place in history along with a cigar, stained dress and a chubby intern.

I think that right now we need a President that is concerned with National security and willing to risk everything to secure it. It may turn his hair grey and he will have to face a lot of nay sayers but that goes with the territory.
