Million Moms Planning Another Anti-Gun Rally

"Moms who dislike guns plan to gather in Washington on Mother's Day weekend 'to demand gun violence solutions,' as their press release put it.

'With children at risk in their schools, their playgrounds and their communities,' mothers and others will rally on the weekend of May 8-10, the Million Mom March announced on Monday.

They're calling their rally the 'Halt the Assault Weekend.'

The group announced its plans on Monday, outside Martin Luther King Jr. High School in New York City, where two students were shot on Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday in 2002.
'There are war casualties all around us,' said Shikha Hamilton, a spokesperson for Halt the Assault. 'We need to stand up and say we've had enough,' she added. 'We are calling a timeout in the war against the next generation -- our children.'

The Million Mom March announced that Essence magazine has agreed to foot part of the bill for the event. The magazine will 'reach out aggressively to attract supporters over the next three months,' the press release said.

The Mother's Day anti-gun rally will include an interfaith service, speakers, entertainers, 'informational' booths and 'other visual elements,' organizers said."

Why don't they worry about raising their own kids right. I was brought up around guns as my children are now.


Here's a solution know what the hell your kids are doing and don't raise them to settle arguments by burying somebody else.

Never underestimate your enemies, but they won't have nearly a million people , they'd probably be really lucky if they got half of that!
Look for the three stooges networks to cover this rally though, and as usual with their propaganda, they will certainly stretch the attendance numbers!
Unfortunately, groups like this seek, and with our liberal media, find attention and grab spot lights!
I guess we as conservatives, that have jobs and families just can't afford to trek cross country to "protest" events! Most of the larger gatherings are from the "liberals" side.
I suspect that these are just throw backs to the 60's that have nothing better to do than go to protest rallies. I wonder if half of them are'nt on the welfare system! If they were really concerned about their kids, they'd be at home raising them!

I have no problem with people protesting it's something that makes this country great. My Dad grew up in a country where if you spoke out against the goverment you disappeared.

It's too bad that pro-gun organizations couldn't organize a counter-demonstration. If we could get just 10% of the nations lawful gun owners to show up in Washington the Million Moron March would be outnumbered roughly 18:1 (assuming that they MMM had even 500,000 show up). I don't think they've ever had anywhere close to a million people at any or their rallies.

See, I see one of our problems being that we don't get enough press time. We rightfully consider ourselves better than the riff-raff that stage the liberal anti-gun rallies, but in reality the squeeky wheel gets the grease. These idiots know that they'll have a hard time beating down our gun rights if they strictly focus on legislative means, but when we see even 250,000 people packed onto the mall in D.C. the press and the legislators take notice. Imagine how much attention 9 MILLION lawful gun owners would get is they surrounded the White House and Congress demanding our rights be preserved? But no. Instead we sit around hoping that the NRA will save our rights, while the people on the other side are ACTIVELY engaged in destroying them.

The thought even occured to me that we wouldn't all need to go to DC. If 50% of the gun peaceable gun owners would gather at their nearest county courthouse or federal building there'd be a total of roughly 45 million+ of us nationwide. That'd get somebody's attention in DC.

All these anti gun groups are dangerous to our gun rights, and we need to fight them at every opportunity!

I was just stating that the conservative side is not "into" marches and protest rallies as much as the anti's are!
Maybe we should be! I just don't know where these idiots get the time and money to travel to these marches!

1. The protests in the 60's had a lot to do with turning alot of people against the war,right? These protest proably sway the uninformed to the other side.

2. I doubt their on welfare.The rallies are usually held on Sat. or Sundays . These people are organized and funded. We know they don't get a million people at their rallies but if you asked the average Ameriacn they would say" did you hear about that rally in Washington with the million Moms?"

That's why I said your underestimating them.

Last year C-span covered their march all day long.
