Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Anyone going to see the Passion?

It opens next Wednesday...I ordered tickets last night, and quite frankly, I can't wait to see it.

I wanna see what all the hype is about...and I really think that this movie could change many people's lives.

I don't stand with Mel on many political issues, but for going ahead and going through with this movie I admire him. Especially with "everyone" seeming against it.

I'll let yall know how it goes.

Is it true there are only a handful of actual lines spoken in that? I'll probably wait until it comes out on video. Miracle is definitely in order though this weekend.

My son went to see miracle last night with his grandma. The USA wins the gold medal.

Last movie I saw in a theatre was "A bugs life" before that "field of dreams". Most of the stuff is on video, DON"T ASK, LOL.

I will definately be seeing it....

the comments about contriversy amaze me...it only depicts what is discribed in the Bible.....nothing to controversial there, unless you have a problem with what is written there and then I have to ask....

what is so shocking/cotroversial?

this book has been in print for about 1,500 years or so?

nothing new here....just the Truth carried from writtn form to film........

From what I've seen it's how he shows the jews that is there problem. I saw a Rabbi on O'reilly and he said that the Jews were shown in a sinster way.The way the lighting was done compared to the Romans. blah, blah blah. The usual stuff.

Did you happen to see what Mel's Dad had to say about the holocaust?

Hope that doesn't ruin the whole movie for you. Uf you haven't seen titanic yet. The ship sinks at the end,it's really sad.

I am going to go and see it!
From what I've seen and heard, he has done a good job, that is in line with scripture!
Jesus' death was a horrible death! To just say "He was crucified," does no justice to the suffering that He did for all of us to freely accept His gift of life!

As for it being anti semetic, as I said, it does follow scripture! Pilate was just as guilty, but he gave the Jews a way out and they chose to kill Jesus, and they also said that His blood was upon theirs, and their childrens hands!
That is not to turn upon the Jewish people for, either in the bible, nor in this movie!
Actually His death and blood is upon all humanity, and His grace and love are ours anyway!

as a Catholic i can say that Mel's dad does hang with an extreme crowd (though they ARE still Christian) but that being said...mel's dad DID NOT make this film....

as far as the way the Rabbi said that the Jews were depicted then all that i can say is...it wasn't their best day.

those that called and petitioned the romans for the crucifixion of Christ WERE jews....

now the Romans complied and much can be read it to that but there is no exageration that the leaders of the Jews accepted tesimony that was based on lies and then brought Jesus before the Romans (thus breaking their own laws) and asked for His death...

the romans, the Jews and the crowds complied (we are ALL guilty for Christ's death) but the Jewish leadership was both afraid and angry and needed Christ to die to preserve their own power over the Jewish people and the region (their power was weak to begin with being an occupied nation but this weak power was under a real and serious threat from Christ and his multitude of followers)....check the old testiment that is 'currently' embaced by Jews and many Protestents and compare it to the original version during the time of Christ and earlier (and of course the new testiment)...it is quite different (the old tesiment)...Why?...it was rewritten by the Jewshish leadership just 100 (about 70) years after the death and ressurection of Christ because they knew that the prophecies that were contained in the original scriptures made it undeniable that Jesus is and was the Son of God....(Protestents have rejected these sciptures for other reasons)

the truth is that i can understand why the Jewish folks and secular folks should be scared of this film....it displays the Truth in a very real and graphic way and they are scared.....

my wife and i have several Jewish friend and honestly we both love them dearly but when i have ask my wife if they (our Jewish friends) are still waiting for the Messiah she says that as best as she can understand it that they don't anymore....which leaves the question....why not...isn't that what the entire jewish relion is based on?.....as far as those that we know that are secular.......they really don't believe in anything so this just scares them because more folks might believe in something that they can't or won't accept......
