Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default New Mexico wants cars to have built in breathalyzer

By: Associated Press

(Santa Fe-AP) "“ The House has approved a measure that would require ignition interlocks on every vehicle sold in New Mexico.

It would require the devices on new vehicles by 2008 and on used vehicles offered for sale by 2009.

Ignition interlocks prevent vehicles from being started when the driver is drunk.

The measure"™s sponsor, Grants Democrat Ken Martinez, says it would save lives.

He says putting ignition interlocks on every car, truck and commercial vehicle would shift the focus from punishment to prevention.

New Mexico already requires ignition interlocks for some convicted drunken drivers.

Opponents complain that requiring them on every vehicle would be costly to businesses and to the vast majority of citizens, who obey the law.

The bill now goes to the Senate.

I think you hit the nail on the head. Lots more money for yet another system that will not work. How hard can it be to by pass such a system. I also feel this is s ridiculus way of meetiing Orwells premonitions..

Next they will install computers that will print out a ticket every time your speedometer exceeds the speed limit.

Hold your tongue burnie. This is a public forum remember.

Atlanta would require computers to issue a ticket every time your speedometer droped below 75 mph.

This is another person with some agenda for all of the "feel good" people who want to make the rest of us all "feel good".

I'll tell you one thing, there wouldn't be too many politicians left if that were put into effect...many would be instantly vaporized, and most of the remaining would be slowly cooked to a nice crispy golden brown. Not such a bad idea, but I want to put in a rider that extends the law to lawyers too. Then I'm going to invest $1,000 into the company that makes the batteries and become an overnight multi-millionaire!

yeah i can see John Kerry getting shocked every two seconds.

"YES, BUSH IS FAILING THE AMERICAN PEOPLE- OOOWWWWWEEE"! then his balls are fried!
OR
" I DID NOT HAVE SEXUAL RELATIONS WITH THAT WOMEN- OWEEEE!" would have saved some serious taxpayer money to investigate KLINTOONS lies.
