Default What is wrong with licensing firearms?

My belief is that anything man made that contains an explosion and is able to propel an object over 30 miles per hour should be licensed.

Automobiles are licensed and I see no reason why guns cannot be licensed.

Do I have something here or am I wrong?

So some little homo can't pass a new law and know exactly where to come and get mine. Like concealed carry laws where the crime rate drops dramatically cause the dirtbags never know who is armed. I am guessing you are just trolling for a rise. Remember-two heart/one head. Later.

Not trolling for a rise but when you use the word homo I wonder who I am getting a rise from.

What is this worry about someone coming and getting your firearms?

I am not for the abolishment of owning guns.

buckmine, why SHOULD they be licensed? We have a constitutionally-guaranteed right to own them and it is none of the government's business how many I have and what caliber they are.

All you have to do is look into a little history of liceinsing firearms to see why nobody in this country who is a gun owner likes it.

maybe the question you should answer first is why license firearms? what outcome would result from the licensing of firearms?

cars are licensed mainly to collect yearly licensing fees etc.

Why license automobiles? Airplanes? A boat? I know for taxation but tracking them is done a lot easier when missing...

A car is stolen and found. It is easy to find out the owner. I think the same would happen with guns. Find the rightful owner. Not asking for guns to be taxed on a yearly basis. I think we pay enough for hunting licenses.
