I'm thinking of getting fired and maybe just going to flip burgers or install tile.
Do something that at the end of the day I can be proud of.
Engineering is the schits, it doesn't exist anymore, we're over glorified purchasing agents.
I think i've lost my mind. I told another manager to go pump himself today and walked out.
Any of you need a half crazed soon to be ex-engineer as an apprentice ? Either that or I could try my hand at selling crack. I really don't have that "down homie" look about me, but i figure with my personal skills (*wink*) I could just do dandy.
When? offically or otherwise?
You have me thinking about crack lately, but not the drug.dikas& crack filler.
Laying tiles not so bad- if you have the knees for it. better they laying carpet& linolium etc.
The benonite? clay they sell here to other locations as a waterproofer, & used in toxic containment sights etc , might not work well in alki line soils?
Maybe a cab driver? lumber mill?
hope things work out for you Fng,sounds like schit, wonder what they septic pumper calls his job to make it sound better.
Waste disposal managment? with a big hose...
pretty soon I will be moving back to the land-o-cheese and will be hiring. Your going to have to move up farther north though, I'm assuming that your down by Madison with some of your posts.
You know anything about buldings, besides some of them are big
Perks are Wisconsin & Colorado deer/elk season off and free coffee If you don't tell me off too often I can even through in some crappy HMO insurance and regular vacation time

RE: When did you go insane ??
lost my mind about 10 years ago...
just couldn't take opperating heavy equiptment and living in the city for one moment longer....i had stored up lots of unemployment, so i collected unemployment and moved to the Santa Cruz coast and just enjoyed being alive for awhile...
since then i have just done the things that i love to do and haven't ever been happier...
now, the biggest draw back is that the money isn't as good but the money wasn't making me happy at all anyway so life without it wasn't so hard to adjust to...
I grew up in Chippewa Falls. Looking to move from there to New Richmond up north to Hayward area. I can't believe how much house/land prices have gone up since I moved away (going on 13 years)
I have some land up in the Ladysmith area, but I really don't want to live full time there.

Yup, thank the FIBS and Tommy Thompson. He made a deal with Illinois when he was governor (a fine "republican") such that the 15,000 wisco residents driving to illinois every day for work would pay the higher wisconsin income tax rate in exchange for in-state tax rates for illinois residents that bought land up north -- their wages in Ill are MUCH higher, and not being as stupid as the standard Wisco. resident, they bought land like dogs.
but to this day, most wisconsin residents call Thompson "right wing" -- he was a tony early lefty pile of schit.

You would have to have deep pockets for me to sell. I have 80 acres and a friend of mine has the adjacent 100. That land will be with me untill my heart bursts out of my chest on an elk hunt

thats funny my dad walked out on a job because some nimrod doesnt have a clue what he is doing. my dad has been in the construction business for quite some time and he doesnt like it when some wannabe construction know-it-all barks orders at everyone. funny thing is that 3 people already walked because of the moron, well my dad will go back to having his own business.
