I just wondered if anyone else watched 20/20 tonigh? John Stossel did a whole show on lies and myths and one of his top segments was on the myth of gun control. It was a great segment! He really blasted the gun control advocates and gave facts and figures to show that very few kids are killed by guns and that gun control has done nothing to curb gun crimes. He even interviewed felons behind bars that told him, they would get a gun, no matter what the laws were and they would buy it on the street. These felons behind bars also told him their biggest fear and detterant was citizens with guns. Even though it was only a few minutes of the whole segmant, it was in all honesty, the best peice of guns I've probably ever seen on TV.
The rest of the show was also very good, talking about other myths and lies that Americans believe. Stossel has a new book out on this subject and I think I'll probably buy it.
VC, the taxes, that was a great segment too! Actually all the segments where great. I loved the part where Stossel interview Al Sharpton and Sharpton was griping about the rich not paying enough taxes and he said they pay "very much less than 5%", then Stossell told him the richest 1% pay 34% of all taxes.LMAO!!! Sharpton never acknowledged it and went on with his typical bs. Great show!

I was surprised and pleased to see his gun control segment. Especially considering that ABC isn't exactly known for its pro-gun political agenda. I supposed they must have given Stossel a long leash to promote his book. Journalism is really supposed to be about truth and freedom, so good has prevailed.
Hopefully now more of mainstream America will see the things that vigilant people like us have been following all along. It seems like more and more people are embracing the truth about gun control's failures, but the fight isn't over. Stay the course and educate your fellow citizens!
P.S. I don't have to tell you that a good many of the myths dispelled tonight were issues that liberals, communists, feminists, and hippies habitually manipulated to further their agendas. [:-]
P.P.S. The top 1% of the income bracket don't pay 34% of the nation's taxes, they pay 34% of their respective salaries in taxes.
That kicks butt!!!!! I didn't get to see it cause I was out shopping for a formal party I have to attend. I wish I would have though.
Finally people got to hear the truth and not a bunch on concaucted lies to promote some jackasses agenda.

Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president."
P.P.S. The top 1% of the income bracket don't pay 34% of the nation's taxes, they pay 34% of their respective salaries in taxes.
aught six this statement is correct as published, the top 1% of wage earners pay 34% of all taxes in the U.S. This information is readily available to anyone wanting to take 10 minutes and check information published by the IRS and the GAO. It has also received wide attention over the past 5 years or so by the conservative talk shows and various journalists including Walter Williams, Thomas Lowell and others. The Liberal media tend to ignore these statistics and continue to rant about the rich not carryiong their fair share. The other side of this coin is that the lowest 50% of wage earners pay less than 1% of the taxes in this country and in fact, after various "Earned income" reductions actually get back more than they may have paid in during the year. Great Country America!!
That was the first time I actyually saw the media talk the talk. The scary thing is the manipulation of the masses to get things voted in or passed based on absolute lies. We all know that the facts are that states that have carry laws have dramatic drops in crime rates-DUH. Also liked the environmental stuff and how millions die in Africa from malaria but they will not admit that DDT will save them all at a fraction of the cost of other aid. Amazing segment.
That was an excellent show and a great piece on guns. I got a kick out of the felons they interviewed. Lmao like they really give a dam what the law says about guns. It's plain and simple if you want one you'll get one.
I also like the piece about household income. That really put things into perspective. The American way spend your last dollar. It was a unique show kinda refreshing too. Except jumping in the East river at the end. I'm not so sure about that.
