Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Does anyone here think the Dem's will put Hillary up for VP on the 2004 ticket?

Not a chance. Hillary wants to be president, not VP.

The problem lies in this.

If whichever candiate wins the primary process puts up Hillary for VP and loses, she'd be finished. Ask Joe Lieberman.

It's not coincidence that the top candidates for the Democratic nomination are all relative newcomers nationally. The ones who are out, Lieberman and Gephardt have tried this before.

Hillary will run in '08 if Bush wins again.

She was already President for 8 yrs. Why would she accept being the Vice President now?

Bite your tongue,That would be a disaster for America. Then again it would keep the Republicans in office. That might not be that bad of idea after all.

IF Bush loses in '04, of course she'll run in '08.

Think about it. When a president serves two terms, the logical choice for his successor is his Vice President. I don't believe that Cheney will run based on his heart condition and the fact that he doesn't strike me as the presidential type because he typically shuns the public spotlight.

With no clear-cut successor on the Republican side, Hillary will swoop in and try to claim the Presidency. Sadly, the only way to avoid this is for Bush to lose in '04.

Yikes.

8x8, it's only logical.

Can you name the last time that a person of the previous president's party was elected when that person was not the Vice President?

The answer is Herbert Hoover in 1929.

If the Dems win in 04, Hillary will not be able to run until 08, and then she will probably be a little too old.

Am I the only person thinking there is a high chance Cheney will not be on the ticket this year? Maybe retire for health reasons at the convention? The Republicans need a VP that can be elected in the 08 election, I do not think Cheney fits the bill.
