The heartland is speaking. They don't care for the vitriolic BS Howard Dean is trying to pass off. They don't care for the old Gephardt spin. They seem to be speaking. Are the Democrats listening?
Do you have some poll #'s or other info to share rtread??
Ha ha....I just saw the "vitriolic" one screaming his head off about his loss....it almost sounded like he won. It's only Iowa and this horse race (errr...jackass race?) has just begun. Gephardt folded....see ya. WHERE IS DASCHLE NOW?
Quote:
ok...... wasn't sure what this word was
so i looked it up........
vitrolic: adj. sharp or bitter speech....
The Democrats have actually brought this word back from Webster's boneyard of discarded words. Actually my Scrabble dictionary says "vitriol" means "treated with sulfuric acid". OK...I can go with that.
It's a toss-up between Kerry and Dean, both non-thinkers, tell the people what they want to here without any ideas on how to back up there words.
They need to find a platform and promote that platform.
BUT! I hope they keep up with the way they are going and maybe the voters will see how transparent they are. Then again?????

RE: Thank you Iowa!
The presidential nominee for the Democrats will not be great.
Bush has looked like a string puppet, led by his cabinet which were mostly picked by his father, for his 3 years.
I'm not sure the Republicans or the Democrats have a clear-cut winner, but being an incumbent gives GW the edge.
For democrats, a tough primary race always strengthens the winner, as all his "dirt" will be on the table very early. Hence, it will be either very difficult or very easy for GW to find faults with his democrat adversary.
As it stands now, Bush will take on direct attacks during the presidential election season, which sometimes is harder for someone with a very limited vocabulary to defend and conquer. Kerry will become the front-runner, and appears to be the class act of the bunch. I wouldn't be surprised if it's down to a 2 or 3 man race within a month, between Kerry/Edwards/Dean. Clark is somewhat of an enigma...
I think Lieberman/Kucinich/Sharpton should all pack it in and save the eventual Democratic winner some money. The dem nominee will need all the finances to go up against GW, who brought in more campaign money in one month than the seven combined brought in all last year...
I can hear big business rumbling, and it's saying, "GW is great 'till '08"...

Do you have any evidence to back up this statement, or are you just repeating what you've heard from friends, talking haircuts, and/or fish-wrap op-ed pages?
Anyway, my opinion on this is a little mixed. History has shown us that while Iowa doesn't always pick the winner, they're very good at picking a loser. Nobody has ever come from fifth or worse in Iowa to claim the nomination, but the guy who finishes first doesn't always win it either. You can scratch Sharpton, Gephardt and Kucinich (as if you didn't already). Lieberman is probably out as well, but he didn't run in Iowa, but he's probably the weakest of what's left.
Clark didn't run in Iowa as well, and New Hampshire will tell us if anyone takes him seriously or not.
On one hand, I'm a little sad to see Dean fail to show a little better. I thought he was the strongest weakest candidate, meaning that I thought he was almost assured of getting trounced in the general election. He'll need to sack up in the next few weeks to convince democrats that he's not a raving madman (I however, have made up my mind on that one).
Kerry and Edwards are both viable candidates. They'll be tough for Bush to beat.

Carp,
Most of the cabinet does not have ties to Cheney and Bush Sr.??
I'm slightly confused, unless you know of a different executive cabinet than I...

That's not what you said....What you said was that the cabinet was picked by his father. That's different from having ties to that administration.
I submit that there is a circle of people which exist in both parties. Of course some of the people will overlap or come from a previous administration. It happens all the time. Do you think that George H.W. Bush's cabinet was picked by Reagan?
You made a claim that George H.W. Bush picked George W. Bush's cabinet. I simply ask you to prove it.
