Madison School Board Approves Bilingual School

The Madison school board approved the Nuestro Mundo community school last night, but the board required the school be "embedded" into another school in efforts to save money. Superintendent Art Rainwater said he would have liked to wait another year, but Nuestro Mundo organizers said it might have lost all of its grant money if it had waited.

What boggles my mind is why we put up with this sh*t.

Why don't we collectively storm our state capitals and put the governors in a rope necktie?

the reason we put up with it is because most people don't have the balls to stand up and say enough is enough. until we start doing that as a people it will never get better

We have to. Imagine if we all stood together and forced our goobermint to do something about the illegals!
We would be considered a Klan rally to force out Mexicans! It would turn into that very quickly. No one would see we only wanted illegals out of here, they'd swear up and down we were racist.

Does this bilingual school just teach in english/spanish, or are they going to take on all languages?

I personally think bilingual schools are of key importance for the future.

While I agree we must do something about the illegal immigration, the basic facts are that ~50% of Americans---legal American citizens---can and do speak both English and Spanish.

Spanish is also, not counting the population sizes of China and India, but the number of nations/states, the most spoken language in the world.

Learning Spanish will save our children the headache of not-knowing what the hell everyone is speaking. Period.
