Montel Williams and Marijuana...

Montel Williams (talk show host) suffers from MS and has chronic pain in his legs 24 hours a day. He has tried pain killers to help the pain but they were highly addictive. One of these pain killers in-particular made him very depressed which gave him suicidal throughts. He discussed other possibilities with his doctor and his doctor recommended marijuana. To this day Montel Williams uses marijuana to help him cope with his pain and it helps. He has gotten back his quailty of life to an extent.
Any comments?

I didn't know this, I did know Montel had MS though, very interesting

My friend, retired Dect. from police dept, has MS. We've begged him to try pot at his Dr.'s recommendation and he refuses. I hope he comes around to trying it.

Ill get shot down on this, but i see no difference in marijuana and a
prescribed drug. I still to this day feel it is less detrimental than alcohol
and/or nicotine. I believe it is all dogma and stereotyping that keeps us
from yielding its potential.

Won't get shot down by my Burnie! I also feel that Marijuana is less harmful than alcohol and nicotine. I don't buy into the rhetoric of it being a "gateway" drug either. The same logic could be applied to alcohol and nicotine. On the medical side, there is too much information confirming it's beneficial effects for so many ailments, it is a shame it is not more readily available. As you stated, stereotyping and Dogma keep it "underground".

Seriously if it helps what is the big deal, I have to take pain pills all the time and all they do is make me feel like sh**. If the pot works then what more could someone ask for. Its not like he is standing on a street corner pushing the stuff to youngsters, he's using it to help himself. Besides it is legal if the doc. oked it, what is the difference between it and any other drug?
