Default How many of you have been divorced

How many times?

Were you married in a church or a civil ceramony?

Who got custody of the kids?

30 years in June, no regrets! When the man said "till death do you part", we listened. Neither of us were married previously.

I realize that things change, people change....good marriages sometimes go bad. I don't hold it against someone unless:

1. They go into a marriage thinking they can get out easily if it doesn't work.
2. They don't try to work out problems when they come up.
3. They cheat.

almost all my buddies have been married several times. one has been married 5 times.not sure for the reasons of all the divorces.it seems they never think about the kids until the divorce.i never knew what a good wife i had til i retired and got to spend time with her. i know the temptation of cheating is there and have never understood the reasons why. i would never put my family in jeopardy over another woman.

I've been divorced once.

I was married in a chapel.

I have full custody of my son.

I am now married again to a wonderful woman.

Let me add...

I went to SS to get child support. After reading through the papers I was pissed.

Not word for word but the papers read like this:

Name of the man you are wanted child support from________________
Did he acknowledge he was the father of the child?
Has he offered any money to you?
Has DNA testing been done to determine he was the father?
What is his income?
Does he visit the child?

Now, here I am a man wanting child support from a woman, and they don't know how to act. They had to get a lawyer to draw up new paperwork just for my case.

All I can say is stereotypes suck!

Middle aged white male is the worst thing you can be if you are a divorced father. I am astounded you have full custody farmcntry - must be a heck of a story.

I am divorced, remarried to a sane woman (great wife too, best friend I have on earth). My ex and I have split custody. Since we have the kids exactly half time and split all costs, neither of us pay child support. We both insisted that we do it this way - no child support and split everything (of course, the ex got the house[:'(]). Funny thing is, the courts and in particular the Friend of the Court tried to talk the ex into collecting from me, then when she said no, they tried to tell me that it was my legal obligation to pay child support and tried to force me into filling out papers on income and settling on a payment. That's when I got pissed and demanded in writing laws pertaining to this. When they couldn't produce a thing, I walked out.

Not really. Since the day he was born I did all the work. Changed diapers, etc. So naturally he took to me, only wanted me when he was sick, hurt, happy, etc. So when we split, he wouldn't go stay with her on her weekends. So I had her sign over full custody to me. Then when the divorce was settled, she didn't show up, and full custody to me went into the divorce decree and it was legal, bonded, etc.
She can see him every other weekend, and is known to miss her weekends a lot.
She's stupid!!
But, he calls my wife now, mommy, and she is his mother as far as I'm concerned. My ex's parents refer to my wife now, as his mother, if that tells ya anything!
But society is for the woman to get the child. No-one knows how to act when they find out I have full custody. Before I met my wife now, it was tough. Had to let some things go back and ruin my credit and eat bologna for a while to be able to take care of him, but we always have a great time and I wouldn't change a thing.

Good for you farmcntry, glad to see that a good hearted man got custody rather than a mother that don't really care.

I see too many couple around here stay together just cuz the father don't want to be split up with the kids cuz they know they won't get custody. It is a sad world we live in when the better parent won't get custody just so the child can stay with the mother!!
