I don't ! I'll be honest. I worry when they tell us there keeping information secret for reason's of "national security" Take for example the Kennedy assianation. Who's security are they guarding theirs or ours. Let's keep everything secret until no one will look into it when it finally does become public.
With what's going on now if you question anything the current administration does your called a liberal or anti-war. Things come out that aren't true and it's brushed under the rug as bad intelligence.
When The Republicans are in control the Dems don't trust the adminstration and vice versa when the Dems are in control.
When you are watching your news cast of choice and are told this is what's going on do you belief it or say to your self "what's the real story?"

Another thing is this WMD mess. Yup Hussein had them and used them against the Irianians and Kurds.
Irianian war we supplied them with chemical agents that were later used in chemical weapons. Supposedly we never thought they would be used in chemical weapons. If you belief the goverment.
Kurds- The USA told the people of Iraq to rise up and over throw Husseins regiem and we would help them. We didn't and thjousands were killed.
Afghaniastan, During there war against the USSR we supplied the Afghans with SAM's and training to Bin Laden and his cohorts. Then we ahve to go in and clean them out.
If your telling me that our goverment is the feeble when it come to picking groups to support. How do we believe anything we're told?

Trust the media? Run by the gov for the most part? No.
To answer your original question, no. Our government has been led away from the very truths that formed it in the first place. Any time you get away from truth, in this case God and the Constitution, you have troubles and lies and deceipt. If people knew what was going on behind closed doors we would be in shock. It's messy. JFK? Obviously an inside job. Trade Center? Oh yeah, not by accident at all. We are in bed with the most vile world leaders for one reason - to enslave the people for the purpose of a one world government. So to trust our government is rediculous. It's just a matter of time. We won't stop it. I know Charlie - back to a comment you made about me on an earlier thread - "I can just see badshot on the street corner with a sign saying the end is near." Not going to do that, but please wake up to the fact that our government is not out for the people, it's purpose is to enslave us slowly so they can ultimately control us. Why do you think gun conrol is such a big issue? Many counries have already been disarmed. Why? So they can't fight anyone that is about to enslave them. Our right to bear arms was put in place to protect ourselves from governement.

We were made by God and for God, and until you figure that out, life isn't going to make sense.
If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a civilization, it expects what never was and what never will be.
I consider everything I see as to how accurate it might be and how probable it is that I'm hearing the truth. We all do that with everybody and everything to a certain degree. There are times in my life when I had less trust and was more prone to believe conspiracy theories. At this point in my life, I am continuing to learn that what I've previously seen as some design by government is often sheer incompetence with some ignorance and stupidity thrown in. Based on their views about having a gun free population and the government take care of everything, I could make a theory about liberals being in a huge conspiracy. But hey, they're just not that smart. Do their actions make it easier to have a 1 world government? Of course. Is that their design at the street level of liberalism? No, they just think they know how to make the world better and have not really thought things through well enough.
I think everybody should think things through for themselves. To do otherwise is doing yourself an injustice and is not fully participating in our republican form of government with so many freedoms. As for our government supporting thugs in other countries, oftimes, that was simply our government choosing the lesser of 2 evils and hoping it works out.

If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you can read this in English, thank a veteran.
If you're certain you know everything, there's little opportunity to learn anything.
We have had the scandals....Tricky Dick says "I'm not a crook" and slick Willy says "I did not have sex with that woman". Algore says he invented the internet. We were winning the Vietnam War? Kennedy and the Bay of Pigs....hero??? Reagan got away with one in Nicaragua. It goes on and on. That's all in the executive branch.
Then there's the Congress. They are there because we voted for them and they know who butters their tortilla. So you get pork barrel, special interests, partisan politics, dirty tricks, lying, cheating, all to get re-elected.
Then there's the Supreme Court....everybody thinks every decision that court makes is based on the liberal/conservative balance of the court. Nobody gives them credit for anything else.
The icing on the cake is the media. Admit it or not, the liberals have had their way with our media. The spin that they incessantly put on the news sways peoples opinions about our government. Who we should believe and who not. Who we should vote for. Who we should crucify. How we should THINK.
Having said all this, I still think our country and our system of government is the best there is. I'll gladly put up with our faults to reap the benefits of all the good. CalHunter nailed it in his reply....people need to think and judge for themselves. If you can do that, we can have our faults and live with them.
I agree, how many people don't think for themselves. If Bush or Rush say's it it's the truth.
If a Democrat say's it it's a lie. Or vice versa. Blind partinsinship is bad for this country. That's why I consider myself a Independent.
In our local elections this past Noveember I voted all most totally Republican except for Town Superviser I voted democrat. Why, She's very active in things for the kids in our area. Infact I've seen another memeber of our town board at a LL game or one of our youth football league games. She's kept spending down and has done a overall good job. The Republican running against her ran a totally mud slinging campaign, that didn't tell you what he was going to do. He still allmost got elected becasue the area is allmost all republican.
The last time we had a Republican in charge the town board passed a 1,000 foot rule for hunting in the town. Even with the bow.

You can pick and choose who...and what you believe to trust. But only a fool becomes dependent upon anyone other than themselves, (assuming they have no disability)!

I don't necessarily TRUST any politician. The sad truth is most of the time you have to choose the lesser of 2 evils. (Kinda like a used car salesman) Pick one and hope for the best. This has also been the way our country has dealt with international events. Why did we support this country? Why did we support that country? It goes back as previously stated that it was the decision made at the time of the lesser of evils. The truth is, the US originally did not want to be involved in international issues. Pearl Harbor changed that and now we are and have been at the point of no return. As others on this board have said, trust yourself and study the agendas vote for who you may, but never compromise your own morals and beliefs............
