Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default comments from a hunting show

I was watching a hunting show tonight and during the show they have a viewers letters segment. The question was "how much mail do you get from anti hunters"? The answer to this question was that they do not receive any mail from anti hunters. NONE!!! They do however, receive a lot of anti hunting mail from us hunters fighting against each other. Wether it's inline muzzleloaders, crossbows, baiting, high fencing or whatever.

Man, we really got to stop this. All we are doing is ripping apart our own sport that we love. The host commented that this is America where we have the freedom of choice and if it's legal and ethical then leave the other person alone. He is absolutly 110% correct. I did not realize how bad we actually are until seeing this and hearing his comments about us actually writing in to his and other hunting shows pitting ourselves against each other.

I have been guilty of this to some extent every now and then but after hearing this I have to take my own and his advice and quit this crap. We will not last if we don't.

Sometimes we can be our own worst enemy. I don't however believe we need to be politically correct either

Think about how most things in life get destroyed whether it be a marriage, a business, a friendship, a church, etc..... FROM WITHIN.

Good post bigbulls.

AMEN Big Bulls!!!! Great post!

Look at this message board as an example. How many anti-hunters do we see here? One every now and then but not very often. Now how many knock down drag out fights do we have here between hunters over what is "ethical" or what is "real hunting" etc? I am not saying that debating these things or talking about them is wrong but some people just get too worked over the fact that they don't like some way of hunting or the like. In reality.....WHO CARES! There are methods and traditions of hunting that people on the msg. board participate in that I personally don't have a desire to do, however, they are putting meat on the table, having fun, and doing it legally. What's wrong with that?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying we have to lay down and "accept" everything so we don't "offend" anyone, I'm just being a realist. It's just like the high fence debate....who cares? You aren't going to stop it no matter how much you oppose it, so get over it. I'm not a fan of it either in most cases and I'll express my opinion on that but there is no need for us to have 5 pages of threads calling each other names over something so petty as a difference of opinion.

You know I think that 99.9% of all the people (including me) have totally lost sight of what hunting really is. Hunting is putting meat on the table any way you legally can. That is why men have hunted for thousands of years. I don't think there were alot of debates on the "ethics" of hunting to put food on the table 150 yrs ago.

Hunting is the pursuit of game.

Nothing more and nothing less. It has nothing to do with ethics or being legal or not. Just the pursuit.
