Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

I personally haven't heard it either, but it does go to prove the point that pot will slow your reflexs considerably. Shouldn't that song have been out about 9 months ago if he believed in it?

He played it at a democratic fund raiser. He also wrote one for the first gulf war. That's fine by me, at least he is consistant, and doing it in the US, not lighting a match to a bunch of fuel coated anti US people in a foreign country. Doesn't mean I agree with his view. But even stupid views get to be heard in the US, that is what it is all about.

Like him or hate him, this is the great thing about the United States. He has the freedom to do a song like that. Freedom...isn't that what the US is all about??

IMO he saw how much fame the dippy chicks got, so he just saw another way to make money, just like his farm aid. Nothing is done for free look at the publicity a person gets when they put themselfs out there. I just wonder how T.K. feels about his buddy Willie now??? I'll bet he his about ready to put a boot up his a**[]

Shouldn't everyone be anti-war?

I like willie, I have not heard of this song. I would say old Willie is simply trying to cash in on the anti war protesters. Remember he has a pretty big bill to pay to the IRS.

I get your point Charlie. I don`t think I would use the phrase anti war, maybe something like try alternatives first.

I like willie, I have had the pleasure of meeting him. Nice enough guy.

I don`t like his stance on several things, but he never did what the chicks did.

No offense to the author of the thread, but I'll have to hear that song to believe it. I think he's smarter than that.

Here are the lyrics for those who are interested. I'm disappointed in Willie.....
-----------------------------------------

Whatever Happened To Peace On Earth

There's so many things going on in the world
Babies dying
Mothers crying
How much oil is one human life worth
And whatever happened to peace on earth

We believe everything that they tell us
They're gonna' kill us
So we gotta' kill them first
But I remember a commandment
Thou shall not kill
How much is that soldier's life worth
And whatever happened to peace on earth

(Bridge)
And the bewildered herd is still believing
Everything we've been told from our birth
Hell they won't lie to me
Not on my own damn TV
But how much is a liar's word worth
And whatever happened to peace on earth

So I guess it's just
Do unto others before they do it to you
Let's just kill em' all and let God sort em' out
Is this what God wants us to do

(Repeat Bridge)
And the bewildered herd is still believing
Everything we've been told from our birth
Hell they won't lie to me
Not on my own damn TV
But how much is a liar's word worth
And whatever happened to peace on earth

Now you probably won't hear this on your radio
Probably not on your local TV
But if there's a time, and if you're ever so inclined
You can always hear it from me
How much is one picker's word worth
And whatever happened to peace on earth

But don't confuse caring for weakness
You can't put that label on me
The truth is my weapon of mass protection
And I believe truth sets you free

(Bridge)
And the bewildered herd is still believing
Everything we've been told from our birth
Hell they won't lie to me
Not on my own damn TV
But how much is a liar's word worth
And whatever happened to peace on earth
