Wisconsin Town Celebrates New Year With Toilet Bowl Parade Featuring Giant Throne, Plunger Scepters

HUSTISFORD, Wis. Jan. 3 "” The royalty in the town's annual bowl parade carried toilet plunger scepters and sat on a giant toilet throne.

People in Hustisford welcomed the new year Thursday with the 39th annual Hustisford Toilet Bowl Parade.

Spectators along the parade route flung toilet paper at the Toilet Bowl Queen and King, Courtney and Jason Hildebrandt. The parade was followed by a town football game and water fight.

"Every year it gets bigger and bigger," organizer Erica Grosenick said. "It was started by three Hustisford guys who wanted something else to do on New Year's Day besides sitting around watching bowl games on TV."

The parade had other floats, including one of Santa pulling a captured Saddam Hussein and one of a sled carrying "Miss Poopsie 2004," a doll on a potty chair pulled by a team of four dachshunds.

The Hildebrandts earned their royal honor by selling the most raffle tickets.

The event raises money for scholarships for students from this village of 1,142 in southeastern Wisconsin's Dodge County. It also supports its sponsors, the Hustisford Fire Department.

Hustisford is only about 45 minutes north of Milwaukee and is a small town. I think there are only 6 bars, two gas stations and about 1000 people. One of my buddies had a cottage on the lake(mostly marsh at that time), Sinnissippi, there and we spent most of the 50 day duck and goose season at his place on our off days. Those are some really nice folks who enjoy having a good time.

We have all kinds of great festavils around here. That one sounds pretty good.

You could go to "Hustler Fest" in Hustler WI and stop at the Hooter Bowl after watching the bed races or wait untill the bar stool races are over. Oh and for you logs, Hustler only has one gas station 3 bars and one church. It does have a creamery though.

Don't forget there is also an annual state cow chips throw every labor day weekend in Sauk Prairie parades bands beer tents and oh ya the meadow muffin throw. kids adult men women and corporate throws.
