Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default proposition for Pro High Fencers!!

I have a proposition for Big Country/pro High Fencers

I'd like to do a survey of non-hunters via e-mail/PM or whatever means neccesary to be able to provide the answers for us all to view. What I'm proposing is this:

We all come up with a questionaire of sorts say 20 questions. Try to cover every aspect of High Fencing. Both parties must agree the questions will NOT be persuading one way or another. We make a copy of the final questionaire and start sending it out to the non-hunting people we know. Let's see what the perception of High Fencing really is!! I think it would be an interesting way to gather some information on what non-hunters think rather than us debating what we (as hunters) "think" they feel about it.

Any up for it??

Lets let stealthy describe his version of high fence hunting to 20 non hunters, then I will take 20 non hunters to my place and show them exactly what we do.

I bet you will get WAAAAYYY different results.

Big Country - Have I ever dissed high fences ? EVER ? I very much dislike canned hunts, the high fenced areas that offer fair chase hunts I got little problem with.

Stealthy, I cannot answer this question one way or the other.

Your defining line between the two endeavors is very blurred. Where would/should the line be drawn?

Who should draw the line.

We have beat this worse than a crossbow debate, and in all honesty, I am tired of debating this one.

I am not going to change my mind, or my operation. Nor do I expect to change your mind, so I will leave you with the task of carrying on alone in you crusade to save the world.

If you want to raise your arms in victory, have at it my hardheaded friend!

I forgot to answer this in that e-mail you sent me...

It is $2500.00 non refundable just to step into my pen. And NO guaranteed kill.

Let me know if you are still interested.

I kinda drew that line in that one thread. If its along the lines of gauranteed kill, stocked animals, half tame animals , dozens of different choices on small acreage etc etc, then its not hunting, its killing.

G&F and States should - an do to some extenet. Define what IS and ISN'T hunting and those places that are not hunting should not advertise as such. They would still exist of course but those taking pleasure in shooting animals there would see a loss in the luster of killing canned animals IMO.

But isn't it FUN ?

Not save the world, save Hunting as I know it. Its threatened on many fronts and shooting penned animals is but one more nail in the coffin. It violates fair chase, nobody like it but those who do it (and even they don't sometimes) and its damaging Hunting as I know it, as I was raised. I do not mind change ... if its for the better. Canned Hunting does NOTHING positive for HUNTING.

Thanks for the compliment, but victory will come only when people stop shooting canned animals and calling it HUNTING. I don't see that happening, I actually envision the growing popularity of easier and easier "hunts" to satisfy the need that people have to make things easier and simpler in todays world. I easily see a day in the not so distant future (its already here really) where you go online, pick the trophy of your choice, go to the place and kill it the first morning of your "hunt" and brag to your friends and family at the size of the trophy and how great the hunting was.

That dear friend, is NOT beneficial to Hunting as I know it and will destroy what Hunting is. You might agree with it in some aspects - you do because you participate in that industry - and so do I to the extent that it should be legal .... but I believe it should never be confused with HUNTING, just as prostitution should not be confused with love making and homo partnerships should not be confused with marriage

Big Country I hope you have a very successful business and I wish you well.
Thank you for the well wishes. I hope it is successful too. If not, I fear my wife may not give me permission to embark on any more of my big ideas!

See Stealthy, when you are not all fired up mad, you almost present a good arguement.

One thing that still bothers me about you though.......you are always bringing up the "homo" thing.

I`m starting to wonder?

There isn't an animal in the world that can outrun a bullet or an arrow. So unless you are hunting barehanded and naked i.e. no camo
