The American Family Association (AFA) is conducting a poll on legalizing homosexual marriage. These are the current results so far:
Oppose legalization 32.16% (209,784 votes)
Favor legalization 59.66% (389,250 votes)
Favor a civil union 8.18% (53,379 votes)
I must admit I am surprised at the results since the AFA is opposed to legalizing homosexual marriages or civil unions. Here's a link if you want to vote (you MUST use an email address for your vote to count).
Keep in mind Cal, that an internet vote is much different than a scientific poll.
In a poll, a random sample is chosen, and each participant gets one response.
In an internet vote, special interests can rally responses from their constituants who, in turn, can vote several times using aliases and multiple e-mail accounts.
From a scientific perspective, these results are INVALID. They may still be TRUE, we just have no way of knowing.
So if its soley based on opinion, how can you be AGAINST it ? I mean, we both know I am against a certain issue based on as much opinion and fact as you have on homosexulaity - why go with one and not the other ?
i will refrane from the certain name calling on here due to the fact that i was banned from chat for opening up with the expression "how's it hangin?" even though i meant nothing by it except for pretty much "what's happening?" but i would like to voice my oppinion about the same sex marriages and why i KNOW that it is wrong. the world famous PRESIDENT CLINTON opened up the doors to homosexualality by bringing in the "don't ask, don't tell" policy in our very own united states military. this brought forth a surge of closet dwellers who are now opening up their hearts to let our children know that it is OK to be a homosexual. it is ok for people of the same sex to kiss in public. it is ok to go against everything that this country WAS based on.....i care because it is sending this country straight down the tubes!!! now that the homos are getting their right to be called what is it "husband and wife....husband and husband.... wife and wife???" , now the athiests think they have the right to bring down the christmas trees in every town in the united states just because they represent what ONCE WAS a religious holiday. people i can go on and on. the fact is that this country has gone to hell and we can thank all of these cry babies who think they are being treated unfair. i say round them all up and send them over to the middle east and let them start their crying over there about human rights!!!
i would like to thank mr. big baggy eyes for his role in the demolition of my rights while he granted ellen hers. i think that i will have to hang myself if GORE ever gets elected to be our president!!!
