I was just curious what the average joe or jolene gets off for Christmas and holidays. Dec. 19 is my last day at work until Jan. 5. That's using 5 days of vacation and 5 holidays. This is my best hunting time of the year.
Im retire therefore I now get them all off.
Prior to retiring from LE I worked 29 of 34 Christmas' on the street. I did have about Half the Christmas Eves off.
I never did mind it much since I worked from 3PM to 12 midnight most those years so I got to spend the day with my family.
Actually that is a very busy night on most years. Emotions run really high and low this time of the year.

I'm self-employed, and today is my last day in the office until Jan. 5th. I'm own a real estate company selling land, farms, and timber tracts. By the time Thanksgiving rolls around people have the holidays on their mind and they aren't thinking about buying land. So it's basically 100% dead until after the New Year and then their is April 15th that everyone dreads.lol The time off is nice but the paychecks are very often way too far apart.
