died, and "it's obvious one of the officers was
assaulted" before the taped beating began, Police

Once again i'm 100% behind the cops. Where is the aclu? This 300 pound gorilla on cocaine and PCP called the cop "whitey" and "cracka" before he punched the cop in the face ??? They pepper sprayed the moron and he still wouldn't comply.

from what I seen on T.V. it was self defense on the part of the police, unfortunately it will not be seen like that by everyone. white, blzck or green the guy assaulted the officer....

I saw it, and I am appalled at how it was handled. The cops are put on thirty day paid leave while there is an investigation?? That is the most unintelligent thing I have ever heard, and I hope those officers take their families on vacation. Lets get the facts straight: This four hundred pound man, allegedly on PCP and some other wierd substances, after threatening and atagonizing them. When they attempt to subdue him, he becomes violent and aggressive. Now, how is one suppossed to subdue a four hundred pound man who is drugged out? One lady on the news suggested that the officers wait until the man "comes down." What the hell is this country coming to? I agree with the previous posts on gunning the guy down. I mean, if this isn't justification for lethal force, what is? Why do these guys carry guns in the first place? I will tell you one thing, if these guys are suspended or fired, it will be a disgrace to all of law enforcement. We need to get behind our police officers, and show them that the public is mostly law abiding, good people, who are eager to help them.
It's never good when somebody dies, but I am alot less broken up over this guy dying by lethal force of officers than if he would have killed one of the officers. They all say how this guy was so innocent. Well, I have never been batoned by the cops for just walking down the street, so he probably wasn't at all innocent. He more than likely has some priors, and he was obviously threatening the cops. I say way to keep yourselves and fellow police officers safe fellas, and God Bless.
on the news in my area , they just showed the police officers beating him down with thier batons so , i quess they're trying to sway the public opinion on it here ,
i personally don't feel those officers should have been suspended at all , they did thier jobs and reacted in an appropriate way

He was laying on the sidwalk outside of a white castles choke and puke.
they callled the paramedics, he fought with them. they called the cops and when the cops showed up he used RACIAL SLURS (hate crime) and swung and connected with 2 cops.
6 cops tried to put him down physically, he would not go down. They pepper sprayed him, he would not comply. they night sticked him , and eventually got him cuffed.
He had an enlarged heart (from drug use and being a fat slob) and died on the way to treatment.
He was also a convicted felon, had illigitimate children and was an all around pile of schit.
Although it's certainly not fun to go through such an experience BigBore1895, if my department put me on paid leave for 30 days so I had Christmas and New Years off, I'd definitely make excellent use of the time. You could take the family to Disneyland, go visit all your relatives before the holidays, have Christmas and New Years off and maybe even find something to hunt in season. If you're gonna give me double my vacation time for the year, you bet I'm gonna enjoy it. One must take advantage of life's unexpected opportunities you know.
As far as the incident goes, I've heard but haven't seen the tox report that the suspect was on methamphetamine and "angel dust" (PCP). That would explain the suspect not feeling any of the baton blows and not listening to any reasoning. Both of those drugs can be dangerous when taken separately--Together, they would turn somebody into an extremely dangerous, unthinking, angry person unable to feel pain. I would not want to be dealing with somebody on that combination of drugs. That chief of police was right. The guy is lucky he didn't get shot.

On one of the Fox shows I was watching during lunch today, a black lady said she thought they should have shot him in the knee cap. That would have stopped him and he would be alive.

From what I have seen,IMO the police are right!
They were jabbing to the body,not swinging at the head. I understand that is the proper method for use of a night stick.
Just like 99% of all the others, the actor/criminal who is dead is at fault, the Officers are blameless.
Maybe groups like the naacp should spend more time teaching the community to interact appropriately with Law Enforcement rather than run off at the mouth, as should all parents and things like this would not happen.
Man that is going to be one heavy coffin to drag to the cemetery.
Im very pleased there was good video showing how this racist fat slop attacked the Officer. To much food, drugs and poor additude toward authority.
