If I filled in the blanks, could anyone dispute what I said God told me ? Example - If I said God told me Watchman was a servant of Satan, could he anyone argue against that ? If I replaced Watchman with Strut ?
CP - Have you tried the Mtn Dew Livewire ? Oh man, that stuff is like fire in my veins !! I LOVE it.
Uh, anyone, back to the subject - I wish watchman was around to respond to this thread. If I said God told me such, who could say if He did, or didn' t ?

RE: I talked to God this weekend ........
With this same question how can folks believe Mosses, Noah or anyone else talked to God? Funny how time can change the way an outlook can happen, just imagine if David Koresh(sp) where alive during biblical times. just food for thought
Zelazny are you trying to tell us something, enquiring minds want to know
model722 - Only that Watchman professed to be walking with God (came across that way) and that everyone else was wrong or had flawed beliefs. He got that information how ?
In other words, if I said God told me watchman was a fake, could watchman prove me wrong ?

RE: I talked to God this weekend ........
Zelazny I' m not sure how he came to his conclusion, that' s anybody' s quess? I do have to admire his faith though. If he was being honest then there is no doubt in what he believes, his problem was that he went the wrong way about showing it. Just because someone is Christian does not mean they have to go around putting others down for what they feel.
I have often woundered the same thing. I have refrained from asking the question most of the time because I don' t want to offend anyone. Most people here know that I am Agnostic and often question people on religon threads. This is for my own education mostly and every once in a while to try to open someones eyes. Enough of my rambling, I hope that someone answers this question.
Though I frequently enjoy sharing my beliefs, particularly with people that I know...and that know me. And I do try to be persuasive while putting forth my beliefs....I do not believe that I hold a monopoly on enlightenment. Personally I believe it to be narcissism in the extreme to think of myself as so. And that is not the same as meaning I am not convicted in my beliefs, but rather each sentient adult will, and must, decide those issues for themselves.
Now, when I go to pass on my convictions and beliefs to my children, I approach it slightly differently. I feel it is a parents' obligation to teach their children with a morality that they themselves believe. And to do less would be an abdication of that parental responsibility. Which is one of the major failings I perceive with many of today' s households.
I have heard the argument put forth, " but I want my children to decide these issues for themselves" . And that is fine....after they have reached an age where they can think critically for themselves. But in the absence of a value system taught to them at home, they will substitute a value system taught outside of the home. Be it peers, other adults, (or heaven forbid), learned from the nonsense they see on television.
I do not see a problem with a person " putting forth" their beliefs. Nor do I think I am the only person capable of discerning " the truth" . But I will hold onto my values and try to pass them on to my progeny. Which is the way it is suppose to work in a free and " free thinking" society!
