Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default I' m actually ashamed

Why?...because I believe seriously in the 2 nd amendment...I believe some of Thomas Jefferson' s blood runs in my veins...and I don' t own an SKS, an AK-47 or any such type of arm. I don' t own a Garand, an M-1 Carbine, a Ruger Mini, or even an original Enfield, 03-A3 Springfield or Mauser ' 98.

My Enfield is now a beautiful .375 H&H with three position safety, cock on opening, Timney trigger, and a very fancy walnut stock.

The last of my two mauser ' 98 s are now .25-06 and .338-06. I might add, pieces of art.

Tomorrow morning I' m going to practice what I preach.......I' m going to buy an SKS with at least 1000 rounds of ammo so that if ever there comes a time to take up arms against my own government I won' t have to beg someone to loan me one so that I can stand toe to toe with them to protect our values.

In exchange, would those of you with SKSs get a decent hunting rifle, put a smile on your faces so you don' t look like a bunch of *******s.

A sks is a decent hunting rifle. you dont need a fancy wooded tool to do the job- granted some do shoot better then other - but thats true no matter how much you spend. You can be like the elitists& royals of the world- only a gentelmans gun will do- elemanating the masses rights to gun ownership( and hunting etc in the prosses. Only Hand guns, rifles& shotguns selling for over 500 dollars? How bout for self defense? I dont mind being a A/hole in some eyes, better then a elitist my gun is better then yours wannabe, so you shouldnt have any royal type.

Vapodog, you are the man. If you are ever in Colorado, get ahold of me and we will go shoot some rounds off, talk about Thomas Jefferson, and shoot elk with some single shot rifles .

A tool is a tool ,& depending on conditions etc .You will chose the one thats right for the job on/ at hand, hopefully from the many you have.

Nothing wrong with owning a few more. budget willing.

Why do some handicap? Themselfs with primitive tools like bow, arrow, Bp, minimal calibers, when compared to a long range 50? Or guided missle? lol

But could you use a 50 cal bmg to shoot pairie dogs& yots? why not? or just a spear? or somewhere inbetween?

Seems odd to shoot deer from a tree house, & ones you feed etc- but if thats how its done in some places... so be it least they still get to hunt, be outdoors etc & have a reasons to own firearms- so the wouldnt be looked on as a gun nut/maltia type, antigov wacko[]

I only own 3 of the types listed, though several copies of most, plus several you didn' t list, and they all make decent hunting rifles

A great main battle rifle of the germans & made for& copyed & under use& licence in many counrtys of the world in the past? , i would think made for war?- to kill ppl &use as sniper rifles etc & mounted bayonets( man killers?).

They sound like really nice rifles & with your long range cal modifacations trigger work etc ( good optics mounted?) a work of art &thats even deadlier then the origionals?super sniper rifle, killing war weopon?
Or so some anti gun nuts etc could could see it.?[&o]
