Default Bycott movie, Mystic River

Tim Robbins and Sean Penn' s new movie, Mystic River, is coming out and I for one plan on boycotting it. I refuse to pay these two anti-americans anything. What' s your opinion?

My opinion is that I hate the " anti-american" saying that some love to throw around.

I don' t have any problem with people boycotting these prick actors, but what about all of the good american loving people that will make money off of this movie too. Do 2 people out of the 1000 that worked on this film make it OK? Just a thought.

I live in a little different world I guess. I judge actors by there movie/film performances. I don' t waste my time listening to anything they say when there aren' t acting.

I just don' t like these two at all. They will make a ton of money anyway, prolly win some stupid awards, but my eight bucks will burn a whole in my jeans.

Man I sure hope not. I like and respect Clint Eastwood. I have zero respect for sean penn (he' s a moron) and never watch any of his movies anyway. I generally do not watch movies or any shows made by people who are anti-gun or " anti-American." In penn' s case, he' s definitely anti-gun and he sure doesn' t seem to be pro-American. I think his actions did not help our cause, our troops or our country. Debating the wisdom of starting a war is responsible. Appearing to give aid and comfort to an enemy is irresponsible and could be considered treasonous.

Jorgy, I agree that people need to be careful about labelling others and that many people cross over a line they shouldn' t. FWIW, I always though Wayne LaPierre' s " Jackbooted Thugs" comment was over the line. I knew (or believed I knew) what he was trying to say but his comment was ill-advised and poorly chosen.

This is a valid question. There' s an old saying that nature abhors a vaccuum and will basically replace nothing with something. In the movie industry' s case, if penn and robbins didn' t sell movies, somebody else would step into their place and make the same or different movies and thus create jobs for the very same technicians, etc. that would have worked on penn' s and robbins' movie. Just out of curiousity, do you watch or listen to anything with barbara streisand in it?

When I look at all that' s happened with the terrorist in the last few years and what Robbins and Penn have said about our president and country, it' s anti-american as I see it. The America they want and the America I want are two different countries. They have as much right as me to say what they want, but to me, what they say is against just about everything I believe in. To me, the uneducated hollywood liberals are the enemy almost as much as Bin laden.

Yep, this is Eastwoods movie, he called into a radio station the other night and asked the guy not to put him down because of the characters in the movie. He said he thought his movie was worth seeing and it(the movie)had nothing to do with anti-Americanism.

Jorgy that was a well written post, why make everyone suffer because of 2 bad apples.
