There' s a nice Austin area called Tarrytown, which has a little shopping complex with a TX French bread, a bridal shop, shoe store, and a Holiday House, which has become a favorite place to eat with people living in the area. There are also some other business.
The shopping center has a new owner, a woman who is a member of PETA. She has thus declared that NONE the shopping center' s tenants will sell " meat or animal products."
The Texas French Bread has closed (eggs in the bread, you know..). The shoe store, of course, as well as the optical shop (you know, those leather eyeglass cases). And of course the Holiday House is leaving soon.
Most incredible, though, is the bridal shop. The bridal shop started having a problem with ants, and the owner was instructed to NOT kill them; that would be cruel. Instead, she was ordered to " relocate" them. So the bridal shop is closing, too.
Your knee-jerk reaction to this stuff is probably pretty negative. But hey, I' m thinking maybe this is a good thing. By doing things like this and making themselves look like complete idiots, PETA damages their credibility even more, and they end up being seen as lunatics by more and more people besides just hunters.
