Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Supreme Court to hear " Under God" case

Well the SC is going to take the " one nation under God case" that the 9th circus ruled to have removed from our pledge, Also Scalia has dismissed himself, so that means that we could see a 4 to 4 vote, if that happens then the 9th. circus court will be the rule on it. I don' t see how a court could rule on taking that out when they open every session with a prayer to God. Also if it does come down to having to take those words out of our pledge just where will it end, if they vote to take those words out it will divide the country and alot of things will have to change.

there is nothing wrong with the PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCES, the problem is the handful of people that everytime something is said to them they are offended, everyone has the same rights I have a right to believe in what I want you have a right to believe in what you want and everyone else has a right to believe in what they want and the best right we ALL have is that if it offends you you have the right not to listen, speak. or invole yourself but because you don' t want to and it offends you doesn' t mean it offends anyone else. When something offends me I can voice my opion and I let it go. Grow up you Liberals and let it go....

Sorry guys, the 9th Circuit is going to be upheld. Read the opinion, its pretty clear. I bet $50 that Scalia would affirm. The only possible dissent is Thomas, because he' s not too bright.

This country has thrived for a long time with " ONE NATION UNDER GOD"
And on money " IN GOD WE TRUST"
Take it all away and see how long this country lasts.
God has blessed this country for a long time........

They don' t like the words " Under God" because it may offend someone.

Where in our constituition does it say that no one can be offended.

The same bunch that wants to remove those words are also saying that filtering out porno junk on kids computers is stepping on the rights of the kids, and that bunch happens to be the ACLU.

Actually " under God " hasn' t been part of the pledge for that long.

Quote:
The most recent change came in 1954, when " under God" was added to emphasize the American tradition of faith that exists in the Declaration of Independence, and differentiate the American way from what was considered ' godless communism' of the Soviet Union.
What I really think is bogus is the way that the suit came about. The girl had no problem with saying it.

It doesn' t mention a Christian God either just God.

I guess this could upset some agnostics or athiests. Personally I don' t care if it' s in the pledge. If I don' t feel like saying it I can just pause at that part and then go on.

Having " under God" in the pledge doesn' t mandate any specific religion as far as I' m concerned.

I just read the Declaration of Indepdence a Christian God isn' t mentioned in that either. I found this qoute interesting.

Quote:
the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature' s God entitle them,
Nature' s God?

Quote:
that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights
" Their creator" you could take that to mean whom ever you think is your creator, doesn' t it?

Instead of the Pledge of Allegiance each morning, perhaps the Declaration of Independence should become required reading..........for the teachers and school administrators.
A qiuck read of the Declaration is like de ja vous, look at some of the things which were listed as reasons for declaring our independence. Along side of the modern day Democratic party, King George was a piker.

If I were only half so bright as Justice Clarence Thomas, I would be a happy man.
