Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default " pulling plug" vs suicide

I was reading the thread on the band wanting to have some idiot commit suicide while they were playing or some wierd thing like that, and one of the posts made me think about this question.

The arguement is that " pulling the plug" on someone is different than committing suicide. Is there really all that much of a differnece between the two, besides the fact that pulling the plug is normally done in a hospital, and suicide is normally some really ugly thing that needs to be cleaned up.

In my eyes there' s a very big difference.....commiting suicide is something one does to himself.

Pulling the plug is something the " next of kin" do because it was the wishes of the (probably) parent.

Over dosing morphine is something a caring individual does because the victim is in such agony that it' s the right decision....

Any other circumstances are just plain murder.

So if morphine or simular drugs wernt avalable & you used a gun instead , same person & circumstances- just diffent methods to the same end right?
And why cant the person in the agony do it themself? moral reasons?or...other?

Ppl commit suicide for many reasons - sometimes good one like the example givin of the suffering person.

Some times for many bad reasons to it is sad & a waste of a great gift given you then- life.

Vapo nothing is ovious but your presumption that i havent been ... there.

But i understand it is a diffacult & sometimes troubling subject to dicuse.
And a personal choice we may all have to make for ourself(own life) too someday.
