Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default What " good" has it done?

What good did NAFTA and the like do for Americans? This is my personal opinion................all it has accomplished is to further encourage and expedite American companies to send jobs overseas. Why do Americans put up with it? Why don' t Americans raise hell with legislators and the current administration to seek a way out of this? Was NAFTA really created to help stem the flow of illegals from entering the U.S.? If so............it didn' t work!

Imports far outweigh exports in this country, all NAFTA did was help take jobs away from Americans. Personally...........I could care less if the Mexicans and South American countries have jobs.

On another note........I could care less if the Chinese, Taiwanese, Koreans, or any Asians have our jobs. It seems we pander to countries and while we help them...we hurt ourselves. Sometimes I wonder if the people in the U.S. who are in power are really for America. [:@]

Ultimately that is EXACTLY what it was designed to do.
although not popular with most people, the need for cheaper labor was necessary to compete with foreign markets.

Remember, Europe has farmed their labor out to places like china for decades.

The lefties have forced such things as workman' s comp., Paid maternity leave, paid paternity leave, environmental laws, lawsuits and the ungodly cost of healthcare -- all of this functioned to make a $10/hr job actually cost about $25/hr.

So in essence, when a lefty screams about " no jobs" they have to remember that they made the situation what it is today - and it' s going to get worse.

Cougar do you buy anything that says made in China or Mexico, or anywhere else in the world cause its a little cheaper in cost? if so you are as guilty as the companies that have went abroad. They did it to save money and people buy the cheaper made stuff to save money, Don' t blame the companies for wanting to make a profit, blame those that make it hard for them to make a profit here, i.e liberals along with all the regulations they force upon companies, just as FNG stated.

You want it to get better, quit voting for liberals.

Workers comp??? Healthcare???? Hello have you ever held a job? Let me help you out. For 8 years I was an iron worker, while going to college. It was very, very dangerous work, and alot of guys got hurt on the job. Without workers comp, they would not have been able to make house or car payments while they were injured. So when they lose the house, they lose the car, they are then living on the streets, with no healthcare or workers comp to help recover from the injury sustained at work, they are not able to return to work. Why? Because they didnt have the money to get the injury treated properly, and they dont have a car to drive to work.

GA,
They' re not returning to work because most of them are sitting on their fat arses, drinking beer, watching TV and SUCKING THE WORKER' S COMP SYSTEM DRY!

And then guys like you sit around and wonder why companies go to other countries for labor. That part is easy. Those other countries don' t have HAND OUTS. The workers in those other countries have to sink or swim. Most of them swim because they have no other choice. Our workers don' t swim. They demand a raft and a cold beer and the idiot liberals will GIVE them the raft and TWO cold beers.

Cougar
You are right, it has been very counter productive for Americans. I have personally closed two buisness due to NAFTA. I could not compete. My competition bought out my name, leaving the buildings, computer servers, and the likes, sending all the buisness to Mexico so they could exploit the cheap labor. [:@][:@][:@][:' (]

Geesh! Workers comp and healthcare costs are the fault of liberals? So.............some of you think if you get hurt at work, just write it off as bad luck.

For your information......we all have been fooled for many years. Wages are only a small part in why jobs leave, and I will agree that government regulations have much more to do with that.

Lastly...........its very apparent to me that those here on this board who degrade workman' s comp, healthcare insurance provided by your employer, etc. are not the average American wage earner.

Unbelievable!!!!

You' re doing the liberal " i' m going to cry" ploy.

Do they have workman' s comp in China? NO

Do they have workman' s comp in India? NO

Starting to see the light?

Besides, workman' s comp is one of the most ABUSED " perks" in this country. it' s killing california as we speak.

First things first FNG, China is a communist nation, so it is a flawed compairison. Secondly, the cost of living in these third world nations is very, very low. In a communist nation with universal healthcare, workers comp isnt needed.
