OK with the last couple post on murderes. I' m a killer. I killed tons of viet cong. Am I doomed for hell? The Bible says all murderes have a place in the the lake of fire????? Does every soldier in history world wide who killed .are they on their way to hell??? Look I fought in Nam tried to stay alive and killed at times I was not sure it was justified. I' m sure I killed hundreds. The commanding officer says shoot them and he has a M-16 in your back you shoot. I seen guys refuse to shoot women and they got shot by the commanding officer and sent home in a body bag as a hero. Believe me I lay many a night since 1969 and wonder. I wake screaming ,wondering about that women with her baby in her arms. Am I going to be accountable for them ??. I seen women and chidren killed and , yes they had home made bombs on them.Then I seen women and children killed that were not any threat. Am I a murderer on way to the lake of fire????????
If you are asking whether or not your sins are forgiven, accourding to chrisitanity, yes, all your sins have been paid in full... However, in order to receive that grace, you have to accept the one who paid that debt.
Hey I did that June 4 1969. Led to the lord by a black man while we were in a rage of fire. Never forget it ,was about 5:30 pm. Jerome did not make it, he died next to me. I got to meat his parents some years later in Baltimore.
There is a big difference between a soldier and a murderer. A murderer takes an innocent life, unprovoked, for self-serving reasons. A soldier takes lives because he is working towards a greater good, and he is in a kill-or-be-killed situation. In any war there are difficult instances where a soldier may need to decide whether or not to kill. I believe most of those situations cannot be judged by anyone who was not there at the time. If a soldier feels that he made a mistake, and is truly sorry, he can ask for forgiveness and God will give it.

Cardeer, if you did as you say, and I take you at your word, you should be in LBJ or some other hell hole. Some of those thing you describe if I understand them correctly are war crimes. I did my tours and I never saw things such as you say. Yes at times in war there are civilian looses but any soldier who knowingly kills an unarmed civilian non combatant (someone who is not a threat to him or his commrades) has committed a crime.
It' s the type of random loose comments such as yours that causes all Vietnam Vets to be bad mouthed.
I hope for your sake God will forgive you for either doing what you said or claiming you did it.

Logs ,thanks. I am alot of things,but not a story teller when it comes to veterans. I meant no harm to any vets.just relating my experience. I think anyone who knows me on this board and meant in person me can vouch for my sincerity. I cant spell though

as you said , you came to believe , and therefore if you believe in christ and accept his sacrifice for our forgiveness and that he arose on the third day to reign with the father then yes , all you have to do is pray to god and ask for forgiveness and it will be granted to you , and he won' t even remember what you did as your forgiven , and if it bothers you ( your experience over there ) as it truly was a hell , my dad was there and it was total confusion , some of our own men accidently killed our own men from what i' m told but , all you have to do is lift your problems up to him in prayer and he' ll help you to deal with them ( if it really bothers you that is , please don' t get mad at me for that bud , hope i' m not getting to personal )
