Cell phone service has arrived in Bath County Virginia.

Verizon(sp) installed a series of towers a few months ago along the top of Warm Springs mountain. I did' nt think much of it at the time, But now every teenage knuckle head in the county has a cell phone stuck to their heads, along with what I would call " average" citizens.

Where will it end....Where WILL it end...

Next thing you know, some outfit will install high speed internet.

I have blissfully gone through life without a cell phone, or beeper. You just can' t escape technology.

Same sort of thing happened here in Whitebread, Ohio.

We now have two kinds of water, hot and cold.

I' ve heard of that.

Do you have one of those new-fangled things that mixes the hot and cold together BEFORE it comes out of the pipe thing, Or do you guys up there still have hot on one side and cold on the other.

My wife has been on me to get one, But it just seems sort of frivolous to spend all that money for something you only use a couple of times a day.

From the way VC was going on about his love life on the other thread, he needs to use that cold water a bit more often. It might wake him up or shock him back to reality

Dave, now when you crank your phone to get the operator, do you crank it clockwise or counter clockwise. And does the operator truely look like Ruth Buzzie?

We just got us brand pot belly stove so' s we can heat the water.

Before we just had to put rocks in a ring and cook there on that big rock out back.

Next year we' re gonna build us chimney too.

Logs, you ought to know better than ask a question like that...Everybody knows that you crank the phone clockwise...When you crank it counter-clockwise it reverses polarity and shocks you in the ear

Your just trying to " get me" ain' t ' cha.

VC, as far as the rocks go, I would suspect that I have you beat by a good margin of technology. We have one of those swinging arm things that puts your supper right over the fire IN THE HOUSE. Heck, I can cook supper, eat what I want AND swing the arm out enough to keep everything warm untill breakfast.

In fact, if I bank the fire just right, My wife only has to get up twice at night to stoke it up enough to keep it all warm.

If she dos' nt spend to much time in bed, she can often get the biskets on top of the Dutch oven by around four AM or so, that way they are ready by the time I get up.
