Default What ever happend to Arthur P?

I had the privilege of meeting him several years ago when I was working the Bowtech booth at the Texas Trophy Hunters Extravaganza in Ft. Worth. He was a great guy in person, big son of a gun, but super nice, even though we fought like cats and dogs on this forum. We used to trade emails back and forth I sure miss arguing with him, I think after he helped Obama get elected and he saw how wrong he was he ran off to the hills afraid to show his face with egg on it..
I tell you guys one thing; he knew traditional archery better than anyone I've ever known. I wish I knew half about archery is that man did. The last I heard from him he was selling his house in Dallas and he sold it and that was the last time I ever heard from him again.


I don't know if any of you guys know what happened to him.

Yes Sir, he was extremely knowledgeable in traditional archery. I too used to argue with Arthur regarding Obamicus zerous. Hope he is well and happy...where-ever he is. I never met him, but he seemed like a fine fellow...just misguided.

I sure miss Art and his expertise on the traditional board. I met him at the Texas State Longbow Championship several years ago. For a guy that was so smart and logical, I can't understand his pollitical positions. He did have a lot of trouble with arthritus--hope he's doing well.

He's still a member but hasn't posted since last June. Maybe somebody has seen or heard from him?

A little bird told me you guys were asking about me. I'll give you an update. Moved to Denton. A couple years ago, I finally got to the point I couldn't walk any more. Found a neurosurgeon that said he could help. Last September, I had a 5-level lumbar laminectomy and fusion, with 4 titanium rods and 20 screws. So, my lower back is completely fused now. Still can't walk far and I've got 12 more weeks of physical therapy to go. I've got 20 years of nerve damage that needs to regenerate and there are some back muscles that are not working at all. Maybe they'll come back, maybe not. No more archery for me, or at least not for a long time to come.

My son is out of 8th Army in Korea and now with the 101st Airborne. Hasn't been to the sandbox yet and he's P.O.'d about it. I don't think he's looking to re-up when his enlistment runs out.

Politics update: I can't stand the crowd the GOP has put together this time around. Gingrich?? Are you kiddin' me? They let him slither out from under his rock? Santorum? I no more want to live under a fundamentalist Christian government than I want to live under Sharia law. Romney? He has at least three positions on every side of every issue and can't be trusted. Ron Paul is just being Ron Paul. At least he's honest and is the only one that really wants government out of our lives. So, it looks like Obama again for me.

Cuss me all you want, but I was really only ever a 2nd Amendment Republican. On just about everything else, I agreed with Democrats. Still do. So, I could never pass the Tea Party Purity Test. Since I was nothing but a RINO in first place, all the GOP has lost is my vote. The Democrats have picked up a pro-gun voter, so it's a win-win situation in my book.

What specifically is the problem with Gingrich? Seems the worst thing anyone can come up with to blast him is his divorce. I don't see that affecting decisions governing.

I'm sorry Art, but that is plain stupid. One, Santorum couldn't impose a "fundamentalist Christian government" if he wanted, and he's given no indication of wanting to do such. Two, that statement makes you sound like you don't know much about either Christianity or Sharia law, or both? No comparison--and I'm sure if you really had to choose, it's a no-brainer which one you'd pick--in a heartbeat.

Voting to allow infants who survived an abortion attempt to be allowed to be put in a closet to die?
Lavish vacations on a regular basis, all the while telling the rest of us how we have to "tighten our belts"?

Just what is it that this guy has done to deserve your vote? How is he better than ANYONE the GOP has on the roster?

There is someone else who posts here who is also ONLY a second amendment voter. However, when you no longer believe in our founding document's principle of "that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." those guns don't mean crap. You sit there and cling to the notion you have a right to your liberty and by the way to your neighbors when you feel like it. What do you do when the government comes for your liberty? Who will be there to back you up?
