Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default What motivates people

I have to wonder what motivates people to bring forth lawsuits such as we are seeing with the Ten Commandments monument, or the thing with the pledge of allegience, or any number of other things that we are seeing.

Surely they can not REALLY be offended.

Surely it' s not for the money.

It can' t be the fame, because their names are kept pretty low profile.

Could it be that folks do these things just to see if it can be done?

the destruction of christianity through the systematic dismanteling of it' s tenets is tantamount for the destruction of capitalism and democracy.

Read your history. Who were consistently the FIRST ones gone after in any communist/socialistic regime?

1) Religious
2) Educated

the educated are taken care of (in the bad sense) through the public school system. the religious are taken care of (in the bad sense0 through the circuit court system.

Hence, ONCE AGAIN, pointing to my original thesis in that the most important amendment is the TENTH AMENDMENT.

The damn southerners knew this in the 1860' s why the hell can' t anyone else see this ?????

Dave, I am very interested in the TRUE answer to your question also.

I find it amazing that the same people who act offended at this type of thing feel they should be able to openly flaunt their sexually deviated preferences in public with no repercussions.

But hey, I am just a mean spirited republican.

Soccer moms, I suspect.

fng, like I really needed to be reminded about this idiot![X(]

His horsehockey dates back to the Warren commision`s findings on the JFK shooting.

Hey, since your folks are from here, why don`t YOU take him up your way?

Put him in with the university of wisconsin at madison crowd....he ought to fit right in.

Yup, good idea.[8D]

Well fng, I was going to ask the same question about what motivates people to insist on the names of dead presidents being removed from schools and roads, You know what I mean...The George Washington and Thomas Jefferson schools and roads have all been changed to Martin Luther...But I suppose that you covered that with your mention of education.

However, and you may call it optimism on my part, I' m still a little sceptical about the socialism thing.

While I have no doubt that there are many among us who would want to see a socialist state, I am not sure thats " it"

I have to wonder if many of these things happen just to " stick-it" to the government, or " The Man" .

Kind of a " lets show-em what we can do" thing.

I think alot of these people operate on the same level mentally as the demonstrators you see marching and chanting about whatever the cause of the moment is. If you ask some of those people to explain why they are there and what the exact issue is, I' d bet alot of them wouldn' t even be able to tell you. They are just sheep who have jumped on the bandwagon of protesting whatever is the hot target at the moment. They have so little of anything real and substantial in their own lives, no faith in anything bigger than themselves, that they try to fill that void by doing something---anything---to make themselves feels like they are important and have the power to do something---anything---whether they truly believe in it or not.
