Maybe they weren't really doing any work at their jobs so they figured they should get unemployment compensation.

I'm sure you hit the nail on the head; I deal with city workers (mostly in city hall) all over the United States, I'ver never seen one work yet!

I'm seen alot of them fat workers messing their fancy painted fingernails and talking on the cell phone to they babies daddy!
(yes, I'm sure that will come across as racist, but it's true)

Amen brother. it's not racist...look at the 'complexion' of local Departments of Motor Vehicles, Unemployment Offices and Boards of Education. Enough of those 'minorities' in there to make a Tarzan movie. None of 'em doing anything other than jawbonin' on the phone or otherwise engaged in personal matters to the detriment to the 'customers' queueing up in the office waiting to have their issues addressed. It's sad, actually. (I really don't care if it's racist in nature...there are no inaccuracies here, only direct observations. Mine apply to my experiences in NYC).
