Several years ago the Saudi royals proposed a power sharing deal between Karzai and the Taliban (The Saudis had long been backers of the Taliban because of the shariah law thing). Karzai bought into it at the time: The Bush administration became wary of the deal and it died. The Obama bunch has resurrected the power sharing thing: Now its Karzai whos wary of the deal.
It looks like the Obama bunch will try to shove the Taliban down Karzai's throat. Our wonderful Asst Chief Executive (Biden) recently made the statement: "The Taliban is not the enemy".
Yep, the US needs to get out of Afghanistan: However, this is not the way to do it.
