Default Oil and Gas Boom: Obama keeps trying to kill it, but it just won’t stay dead

Moratoriums, permitting bans, cancelling leases, Wild Land designations, EPA regulations on steroids, and tens of billions in DOE loans and subsidies for the alternative green energy industry…..the Obama Administration has done everything in their considerable power to strangle America’s oil and gas industry to death, but it just refuses to die. In fact, it seems to be stronger than ever.

With 26 million people unemployed, under-employed, or having completely given up even trying to find a job, the oil and gas industry is bucking the trend during this prolonged economic recession by adding jobs and producing more badly needed energy right here at home.
A Thanksgiving weekend editorial in the Wall Street Journal reports that business is booming in energy rich America in the shrinking number of places not shut off by an Administration Steve Forbes blasted for “the most anti-oil and gas record in U.S. history.” Following is a summary of the WSJ editorial:

http://alineofsight.com/_blog/Blogs/...99t_stay_dead/

Have to give credit where it is do- Obama & team(and his voters, supporters) Have tryed .tryed, tryed & done about everything they can think of to kill im off & keep those Americans out of work & jobs.

If he wasnt such a big eared empty headed numbnuts- he would imbrace these things instead of declaring war on them .And the rest of the country could also injoy the lower unemplyment rates & budget surpluses injoyed by the states doing just that.

( a lot of $ $ lost by bobo/obama that could have went into the fed treasury,on those federal leases, lost production, jobs he killed & where never started etc)

We are sitting on total energy independence. What would that mean to the middle east if we no longer needed to import their oil? What would mean it mean to the middle east if Mexico no longer needed to sell their oil to us? What would it mean to the middle east if Canada no longer needed to sell their oil to us? Instead, we go down this silly notion of "green" energy. All based on total BS-junk science.

Yep, it's a blog. The US oil rig count is up 276 from last year.

Hey falcon, I have a good friend working on drilling rigs. He said its a great job for a younger man. He's got time on his body. Anyway, a comment he made struck me in because it related to a comment you had said. Awhile back, you said they were drilling and capping wells. He said they too were drilling and capping wells. Only they were capping them for the next crew that does the horizontal drilling rigs. Could this have been the reason in your area?

FYI, he also didn't like the job because he felt that he didn't accomplish anything. If you build a house, put in the AC, electrical, you can sit back and admire your work. The only thing he had to admire was a cap on a casing.

Its a strange thing that i don't understand. Now they seem to be developing some wells right away. i've never seen another drilling rig at a capped well but it most likely happens. There is a big plant hear Elmore City, OK that makes oil tanks; they are working six days a week and seem to be working two shifts. i see a lot of tanks on the road when i'm in that area.

i have two friends who run workover rigs. They are working long hours, six and seven days a week re-habbing old wells.

The Baker-Hughes rig count data does not jive with with other rig counts. This may be because of difference in the ways they count workover rigs.

( some greenie social enginner/ pushing socialist agendas it seems blog i was on recently - claimed we( the US) are resource poor- i asked him how he came to that conclusion)

( hype to push a agenda obvious-because its not based on facts)

+1- any science involved have proved nothing that i can see at this point.( and the hype involed in that issure- is just that)

Your questions -i could only speculate on(it would be a lot like whats involed in glabal warming predictions etc id guess) but are some intresting things to think about.

My brother has spent millions on exploration leases, and mineral rights. When he finds oil, he gets ready to drill, the e.e.p.a. comes in and shuts them down. It's usually due to a lizard or something. Obama gave the e.p.a. new powers. Just wait until obama gets his particulate ban passed. Think its tough to farm no
