Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Question Does this make any sense at all?

There are nine people on the Michigan Republican Primary ballot:

Newt Gingrich
Jon Huntsman
Gary Johnson
Fred Karger (Not Kruger)
Ron Paul
Rick Perry
Buddy Roemer (Who?)
Mitt Romney
Rick Santorum
Michele Bachman (You're kidding)
Herman Cain (Didn't his wife put him in a coma?)
Oncommitted
And a space for a write-in

And you thought we sheep were a little weird

only a demokrat could make sense of that. The sense is, that it splits and polarizes the republican party in the state of Michigan even further than it may already be. The time is getting very close where THE CANDIDATE must be chosen and the support of every thinking human being (y'know...the ones with the intellect to know Obama's a bum and has gotta go...) must coalesce behind the 1 candidate for certain victory over the demokratz. The longer we wait, the longer bum-in-a-suit gets to campaign unopposed and solidify his support. Enough squabbling already...it seems Romney's the 'crap du jour' so it's time to support that republican most certain to defeat the enemy....

New Hamshire had 33 on their ballot. Under N.H. ballot access laws a candidate is only required to pay $1,000 to the States treasury, and needs no party approval or petitions for placement. I like ole Buddy the former Republican Governor from Louisiana and member of the House of Representatives. Pure grass roots candidate, won't take a dime otherwise.

There always seem to be a lot of names on any given ballot and most of them have names you either don't know very well or haven't even heard.

What's the option, at least in early primaries? The candidate is suppose to be picked, if you need "party" approval, then you remove a chunk of "peoples choice".

What I would like to see however is that if a candidate drops out (Bachman/Cain), then they are removed from future primary ballots.

Possibly something about needing "x" % of vote though not sure on this one, worth discussion though.

Michigan is liberal, that explains it all. They want to water down the vote.

well that's what I was thinking....split the republican vote and attempt to fracture them wherever possible. Tends to minimize the front runners, and bolster those bringing up the rear....

We're going to see all those Democrats swarming in and voting for Ron Paul,

or Buddy Roemer,

or Fred Karger,

or Michelle Bachman,

whoever they are.

Of course it's not really funny. Why should Democrats or Inependents be participating in the selection of the Republican nominee?

Romney, Paul, and Huntsman had significantly more write-ins in the NH Democratic primary than the other GOP candidates.

2273 Paul
1808 Romney
1228 Huntsman

Huntsman is seen as more liberal than the rest. Being an Obama appointee enforces this perception. He has no chance of getting the Republican nomination because he can't draw Republicans. Does it matter if Democrats and Indies support him? No, since it's irrelevant.

Romney. Flip-flopper, but many accept it. Does decent with Indies/Democrats. In polls against Obama, Romney scores the highest.

Ron Paul. Does good with Democrats/Indies. Many Democrats want more spending cuts than conservatives, and may only differ in topics such as abortion or gay rights. In polls against Obama, he's right next to Romney. Better than the other GOP candidates despite the media constantly saying he's unelectable and him having much less attention and exposure than Romney.

So what? You want it to be Republican only, so Santorum or Gingrich could do better? Wouldn't you be concerned about the Grinch's electablility if a few negative ads in Iowa can make him dive double digits nation-wide? He doesn't poll better than Paul vs. Obama either.

Santorum is well... santorum. lol Google problem. lol
