Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

I'm sure it's been discussed here already, but I haven't had time to keep up with all the discussion, how would you vote if the choices were Paul or Romney?

Paul's problem is that he is clueless on national security!

Wouldn't put much faith in the vote from NH. It's not a true vote because it is an open primary. No one should be allowed to vote for a party's candidate in a primary unless you are part of the party.

Why does NH even matter? Tiny state, small population (comparatively), open primary...I never have understood what the big deal is. They are first--big whup.....

A win is a win. However, an open primary is less than useful as it leaves an opening for everybody not registered as a Republican to help select which Republican opposes their candidate.

Exactly. Rather than being such a big deal, it shouldn't even make the news.

It will be interesting to see how it all comes out after S. Carolina. I expect a few will probably drop out now. Interesting on how nasty the attack ads are getting now. Gingrich is ratcheting them up and he is so far removed from the standings. If Romney is the eventual candidate they are just hurting his fight against Obama. Open primary will probably stay in NH since they are a very Independent state in both politics and way of life.

Being a new england state, I suspect their 'conservatism' is a crock of effluent. That being said, open primaries are the opposition's choice in screwing with the numbers...the fact that Ron Paul places ANYWHERE is a testament to the stupidity, gullibility, and ignorance of the people who are voting for him; discounting, of course, those scurrilous skunks who will vote for 'the destroyer' but who are trying to rig the game by voting for Crackpot Paul as the nominee. Paul has no chance, and if elected, will hand 4 more years to 'the destroyer'.

If I had a choice between romney and paul ? Well, a vote for paul will put Obama in the white house again...and what with the price of gas, I might as well stay home as vote (just illustrative...I'll vote for Paul if he's the guy...but he's as dangerous as Obama, just in different ways...and it shows 'The People' are no longer deserving of the republic which our forefathers handed to us...). Those who stay home on election day will have millions of TRUE conservatives and mainstream republicans to keep them company. This is the risk of nominating Ron Paul for the election in November; non-participation, even by those who would do almost anything to get rid of Obama. Paul will carry the 'Paul Putz's' and not much others....maybe liberal republicans and milquetoast independents.

Open primary will stay. To many voters registered as "independant". At the primary we can vote for either party, but you have to change your affiliation on the way in, get the proper ballot, then you can change it back on the way out.

I like the idea of the open primary, let the independants help on the pick of the party they will vote for. Most independants I know around here are dead set against Obama, so for this election they are basically republicans.

The part I don't like is the thought that the "other" side can come in and try and pick the weakest candidate.

I wish we weren't "first in the nation". Man is it annoying around here for the last 3-4 months with the constant visits, the phone calls and the flood of junk mail.

Romney, being from right next door, was pretty much a guaranteed winner here. the MA NH boarder has moved about 50 miles into NH
