Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

To explain this to you again:

1. Mexican citizens require a visa to request admission to the U.S. (source: State Department http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/ty...s_1274.html#4]

2. An individual coming to the US on a business visa is not an illegal immigrant. They are not an "immigrant". They are a "visitor" coming temporarily for the purpose of "business", usually defined as r=trade between the US and another country.

3. A visa does not grant the right to vote. That only occurs when you are a citizen, a process that takes a MINIMUM of five years once you have been granted residency, which is another long process in itself and not the result of being granted a business visa.

If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

ok smart guy answer me this:

why are immigration officials being pressured to lighten up on the granting of said visas and rush them thru ? More importantly, NONE OF THOSE VISAS ARE TRACKED SO WE CAN BE SURE THAT WHEN THE VISA EXPIRES, UNO MEXICANO GOES BACK TO MEXICO ? Same as with student visas...they go to school...they finish or drop out and then disappear. This is a bullcrap 'grease the skids' complicit effort by the administration to get illegal aliens (THAT'S WHAT THEY BECOME WHEN THEY OVERSTAY THEIR VISAS) in the country. To what purpose ? Why the threats, intimidation and punishment for officials exercising their authority in the granting or denial of said visas ? Wake up scooter...something stinks.

Not prejudicing the issue having not seen any of the documentation referred to in the story I would say that the answer lies in the story: "“When you’re dealing with business visas, those visas cannot wait around a year, or two years, for review. They needed an answer yesterday.”

Visas are tracked through US-Visit and if you are planning on entering the United States legally with a business visa it is probably more difficult -- with burden of proof of intent -- than crossing the border illegally.

I'd also suggest that getting people into the US conducting legitimate business is a good thing - for the economy and American jobs. We cannot deny people entry for legitimate purpose.
