Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Myself, I don't think that Bush should have signed this garbage back in the day. There was no way that Maliki (Iran) was going to "let" the US stay a day longer. Good ridance! I see the Sunni and the Kurds aligning themselves to match the shia myself. They would have a friend in Turkey. Did you know that the UN gave permission to Iraq to pursue Nuclear power for civilian use?

Well I do have some major differences with John McCain, however there are something's I do give him credibility in. Iraq is one of them. He flat out said Obama is the one who mishandled it. He never got engaged or even pursued it. This is on par with Obama's record in office. He refuses to engage in anything. He.s like electricity, the path of lease resistance.

The crime here is the waste of U.S. servicemen and women's lives, not to mention war materiel and treasure to secure that country. And now, because we have an incompetent baboon running the circus, we can just 'flush it' without a concern....

We had no business going there in the first place. Let them have their civil war. There is no way to keep them running as a democratic government unless we are willing to keep boots on the ground 24 X 7 X 365 forever. We knew that when we first went in there. True our intervention took out a bad dictator and freed the people up. We spend hundreds of billions and lost 4 to 5 thousand young lives not to mention the 30,000 wounded American kids who will never be the same. Fact is almost every country in the Middle East has the same issues with bad government which protects terrorists. Iraq is and was no different than Syria, Libya, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan and many of the others.

So when you say that, is the solution to just fold up your tent and go home while ignoring the bad apples? Will they stay in their own sandbox? Is that what 9/11 has shown us? Do you think world trade would go on uninterrupted?

Despite what some have said here, there was peace over there for long periods of time. There were times when Muslims, Christians and Jews all lived together and traded. When you get down to it, all wars are over trade, wealth and power.

This didn't have to turn out the way it did. Bush showed it was possible to achieve peace. However, going back to the liberals right after we took over the country, for some reason we weren't allowed to keep it under our control. We had to give it back or be seen as occupies. Funny how we did that and we were still labeled as occupies. We should still be in charge of Iraq now. Regional we should begin turning local contral over.

Secondly, we needed to take out Iran and hit Syria. Perhaps not total take over, but certainly hit them where it hurts. Take the sissy republican guards in Iran and take out bases in Syria. Had we done that, done that, do you really think Iran would be as brave today?

So would the world be better off if Sadam and sons were still in power? Second, why did we waste our time in the first gulf war? Why didn't we just let Sadam have Kuwait?

Cool

I know it's Christmas day and all, but I'm having a hard time feeling bad about packs of Muslims killing each other in their own country.

Well that kind of makes sense

It's their religion and their turf

Christians used to go around killing each other and the Muslims didn't interfere

This is essentially what many people would predicted would happen when we left Iraq, regardless of whose timetable it was on. The problem with trying to change things in most of the middle east is that many of the middle east countries are stuck in a 7th century theology and simply aren't going to change.
